The bloke's obviously called the team 'coloured' in an attempt to not seem racist. The same people jumping up and down about that would have jumped up and down if he'd have said 'black', 'non-anglo-saxon' etc. (perhaps the 'white' team should have been called 'melanin challenged') I also don't see how he's racist if his conclusion is that the more pigmented team was better than the less pigmented team.
The reason he even thought of it was probably from seeing the increase in aboriginal and polynesian players and their awesome fitness and ability, so he thought to compare the best players to prove his point.
The less rasict and intolerant response would probably actually be to read what he has to say and actually get the point rather than having some paranoid negative response just because it pits people with a light skin tone against those with a dark one.

It's a stupid way to segregate teams, and IMO its racist in its nature... however its a case of ignorant racism with no malicious intent that should have just been ignored, rather than blown up WAAAAY out of proportion.
