Ok well if we're happy to go with 8 we should probably start discussing how we want the scoring set up.

In the past we have gone with something like this

Tries - 4
Try Assists - 3
Line Breaks - 3
Line Break Assists - 0
Workhorse Try - 4
Field Goal - 1
Penalty Kick/Converstion - 2
Sin Bin - -2
Send Off - -4
Captain - Double points

What do you guys reckon?

I've always felt that LBA's could be worth a point.

I'm happy with that but send off could be 5 instead of 4 so it's easy to add up n take way points lol

AB scoring as you have suggested is cool.

Line Breaks 3 may be a bit high given 75% of trys come with Line breaks. But the rules help equalise forwards and backs , particularly with halves/fullbacks getting Try assists 3 as well. So understand why they are amped over the defaults.
