Who? Is that the f**ker that took us to court during the time of the previous coach and got a settlement for something or other....

#resources

Yes, as I recall the club offered him a contract and he agreed to it but before we sent it through to the NRL to be ratified we pulled out of the offer.

I think we settled out of court. Bit of a scumbag more by the club if you ask me, but I was happy to get him off our books.

Agree if we for some reason did the dirty on the guy in the contracting process then receiving a settlement indicates there was some substance to his dispute - only BA and MON would likely be in a position to know what exactly went on and why.

But I can't even remember him contributing anything half worthwhile on the field in first grade, so overall no great loss... at least he came in handy for Pou to reference many years later, for reasons unknown.

He was a decent defender and could pop a quick pass to his winger on occasion, but he was as slow as a slug and didn't have great footwork. His time away on his Mormon mission hampered his game immensely imo.

Was he also a goal kicker by any chance?

If so, wouldn't mind Pou digging up some comparative stats on his conversion rates pre-mission, and post-mission... and during his two year Mormon mission (boom tish).

Maybe the game hampered his Mormon mission?

Eternal life v Vlandys and his gambling addiction.

It was otherwise all over for BA when he joined the church of the latter day bald.

Hopefully you guys are repairing the statue of Haynesy to go back to his place alongside Fui.

He was a solid NRL player thats all. Slightly above average I'd say. He just wasn't worth the pay day we gave him. Still carved out a decent career.

Were those two running the club at the time? O'Neill didn't even start until November 2018, and I'm pretty sure we didn't even have a GM Football in the years between him and Daniel Anderson. We had a CEO (Seward) and a board with chairman etc. back then, dodgy wheeler dealers organising illegal TPAs. Those were the merkins signing off on massive salaries. GM Football (if we had one at the time) might've had authority to do so but certainly not the head coach. There's too much conflict of interest for the coach to be deciding how much merkins should get paid. Plus it's outside their area of expertise.

To demonstrate how even supposedly dumb coaches understand how to use players to their strengths.
