Ok, while we still are a little short of halfway through the competition attention will soon be turning to the 16s and 18s origin teams. As we cant all get to all games thought we can start to get an idea on who is in the running. If anyone is game to name their team interested to hear their thoughts. below is the 16s from 2011 some of which will no doubt feature for the 18s while some have been crooked with injury and others probably haven't kicked on as expected.

2011 NSW 16s
Dylan Russell - Illawarra
Alex Johnston - South Sydney
Dee Jay Harris - Illawarra
Michael Morgan - Bulldogs
John Fomai - Parramatta
Drew Hutchison - Illawarra
Brendan Cox - Bulldogs
Jack Bird - Illawarra
Tepai Moeroa - Parramatta
Blake Harrison - Manly
Jake Kamire - Bulldogs
Brad Deitz - Roosters
Matt Lodge - Penrith
Zac Dockar-Clay - Parramatta
Addison Demetriou - Bulldogs
Brett Solomon - Canberra
Euan Aitken - CRL

Here is my stab:

1. Alex Johnson (Souths)
2. Dallin Watene-Zalezniak (Penrith)
3. Dee-Jay Harris (Illawarra)/Sione Mata'utia (Newcastle)
4. Michael Morgan (Canterbury)/Robert Jennings (Penrith)
5. John Fomai (Parramatta)
6. Zac Clay (Parramatta)
7. Brendan Cox (Canterbury)
8. Matt Lodge (Melbourne)
9. Brad Deitz (Roosters)
10. Fosio Tatola (Balmain)/Jake Kamire (Canterbury) - however both these boys are injury prone so it won't surprise me if they don't get selected.
11. Salesi Funaki (Balmain)
12. Tepai Moeroa (Parramatta)
13. Uain Aitkin (Illawarra)

14. Willis Meehan (Roosters)
15. Moses Leota (Penrith)
16. Liam Knight
17. TJ McLean (Manly)/Joey Lussick (Parramatta)

I will state that my mind will be made up after I see a few more match-ups of the usual big gun teams. Because I still believe the following players are in contention:

1. Addin Fonua-Blake (St George) - however he does have discipline issues which will count against him.
2. Taniela Siale (St George) - workhorse-a-holic.
3. Hehako Tuima (St George) - this kid has been a quiet achiever all season, and didn't play at all bad in 2012 either.
4. Joey Lussick (Parra) - his match-up with Brendan Cox next week will answer a few questions.
5. Tepai Smith (Parra) - how he fares against Canterbury will be a great determiner for me
6.Matt Woods (Balmain) - Captain courageous and and leads by example but I am concerned about his size.
7. Tom Satterthwhaite (Balmain): knows his way to the try line. From the scoreboard it seems he got the better of Sione Mata'utia. The Balmain v Parra game will be his test for me!
8. Tifa Iuta (Canterbury) - had a barnstormer against Manly on the weekend.
9. Taane Milne (Roosters)

Any idea about the under 16s? I've been hearing some good things about Brock Lamb who was the 5/8th in the Aust under 15 merit team last year, apparently goes alright

Just a few points re: your selections - Parramatta seem to be playing Lussick as a no:9 - might help or hinder his selection, Mata'utia and Jennings are only 17, so I have doubts about their selections and I believe Penrith have played Jennings on the wing (he has been out with injury for most of the season it seems, so far).

Don't know enough about the U18's to comment further.

Hear me out, Combinations situations are good, I will some guys I think people are missing out. I know your going to go but play for coast, no different to playing Illawara or Newcastle.

You just need to look at the players I'm going to throw in.
Under 16 -
(9) Daniel Peck - Central Coast - the toughest skillfull player I have seen for his statue a great defender and attacker
(1) Laterell Mitchell - Central Coast
(10 / 12 / 13) - Jacob Giles - Central Coast
(6) Adam Keighran - Bulldogs - But reckon Lamb from Knights - Australian Merit
(7) Jack Cogger - Knights

These boys have combinations and come from the same Local team (undefeated 2yrs row) Played in the same team since 6 or 7 yr olds. But on thing or another leaded to split at this level. Which is bad for the Centurions.

Penrith should have a lot of players in contention for both teams.

Only certainty would be Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

I'm not against the coast at all and know some of these players come from the coast as you have mentioned. The top teams will always do better at the selection table, and rightfully so.In regards the players you suggested.
Under 16 -
(9) Daniel Peck - Central Coast - the toughest skillfull player I have seen for his statue a great defender and attacker would have to rely I think on them selecting 2 hookers which could happen. I think Joey from Parra is a shoe in been playing great played last year a year young and was good. Was player of the tournament at last years OZ Schoolboys and merit team 9 over peck.
(1) Laterell Mitchell - Central Coast. Read for Peck. Layoun playing very well for table leading Side and was merit fullback last year.
(10 / 12 / 13) - Jacob Giles - Central Coast. Back row is probably with the halves the toughest spot to crack. No chance getting in front of Okunbor who is the competition leading tyrscorer a huge human being and quite athletic and team still unbeaten. Cherington been outstanding all season and leads the way for Dragons.
(6) Adam Keighran - Bulldogs - But reckon Lamb from Knights - Australian Merit as you said lamb beats him. Beat him to the ccc jumper last year and been great early his kicking game is very impressive for someone so young. I would still take Doolan next but Keighran has been going well.
(7) Jack Cogger - Knights nothing to add should be in team.

The Under-20s sides have been named for Round 1: http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?p=8983646

Who are all the Under-18s playing? So far I have spotted:
Will Pearsall - Manly 6
Zach Nicholls - Manly 7
Matthew Lodge - Melbourne 10
Zach Docker-Clay - Parramatta 7
Tepai Moeroa - Parramatta 18
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak - Penrith 2
Salesi Funaki - Wests 12

Good performances in the 20s will give them a headstart for NSW U18s selection.

The Knights HM halves seem to be the favourites. However, Nathan Cleary and Jarome Broadbridge are killing it for Penrith. Cleary offers utility value so a possible bench option?

So hard to gauge. Unfortunately none of the top 4 have played each other to this point and the incredibly easy draws of Penrith (haven't played anyone inside the top 8), Wests and Parramatta haven't added any clarity. Penrith v Souths will be interesting this week as Souths (undefeated also) have proven with wins over dogs and sharks (5th and 6th) they are legitimate contenders. Hard th figure 16s completely until these teams play each other and the player have to step up to another level.

Brad Deitz and Taane Milne for the roosters this week and Charlie Taylor for Manly as of last week.

Update on what I think will be the team. There are a couple of teams I haven't seen much of so relying on others views.

1. Johnston - South Sydney (in team last year, OZ schoolboy fullback just shades DWZ for #1)
2. Zelezniak - Penrith (exceptional player only 17 will play again next year at FB. Wing this year as with Penrith NYC)
3. Morgan - Bulldogs (haven't seen dogs this year although if form anything like last 2 years should be there. If he has slipped any of 4 below could take place)
4. Naden / Tia kilifi- Penrith, Aitken - Illawarra, Milne-roosters (preference is towards one of the Penrith centres especially considering their ladder position, Aitken scores his share of tries and has some versatility, Milne is big strong and athletic and woud not be out of place)
5. Taylor - Manly ( going great guns for Manly 20s in last couple of games strong and incredibly quick)
6. Hutchison - Illawarra (very good 5/8 Illawarra captain good size decision making and kicking)
7. Cox - Bulldogs (good organiser and strong kicking game haven't seen this year though if slipped Clay could get spot)
8. Lodge- Storm ( was there last year and will be there again, big body keeps going forward with good motor and work ethic)
9. Clay - Parra (more natural hooker but can play halves as has been case wiht parra 20s. Decision making at 7/6 still needs work but strong and quick. Just edging Deitz)
10. Tatola - Balmain (Saw an early game so not sure how he still travelling but was strong and damaging)
11. Moeroa - Parramatta (Big, athletic and hits like a mack truck.offers some versatility also. Played OZ schools rugby at centre last year)
12. Funaki - Tigers ( tough call between he and meehan for starting spot. Meehan versatility goes against him both strong and good line runners)
13. Yates - Newcastle (well rounded game , strong runner good defender will handle this with ease as he did at 16.
14. Leota - Penrith ( meter eater who plays big minutes and doesn't mind putting in a big shot or two. Not the biggest but neither is Fui)
15. Deitz - Roosters (couldn't leave clay out of starting side. Deitz is bigger although not as dynamic)
16. Fonua Blake - Dragons (big aggressive body needed for this game. Not the big minutes will do damage when out there)
17. Meehan - Roosters (OZ Schools winger now second rower brings versatility. Great athlete)

16s
1. Layoun - Parra (excellent at back and extra playmaker in undefeated team. Goal kicker)
2. Aboumelhem - Dogs (can score, strong and quick)
3. Ramien - Manly (playing ball this year but still 16 and eligible for Matts good at ball level. Great at Matts)
4. Wright - Wests (strong ball runner and good defender)
5. Griffith - Parra (seems to have been playing this level forever. Good finisher strong and quick)
6. Lamb - Newcastle (outstanding kicking game can organise and perfect foil to cogger)
7. Cogger - Newcastle (excellent organiser and ball player great partnership with lamb)
8. Pifileti - Balmain (man child, big strong and outstanding work ethic, great leg speed)
9. Tramontana - Parra (strong and quick off mark, knows when to run and can defend well)
10. Vasquez - sharks (much like Pifeleti)
11. Stone- Wests ( impressed every time I see him. Big hits and hard running)
12. Okunbor - Dogs (big, athletic and knows his way to try line.
13.Butcher - Souths (outstanding captain in a great team. Work rate plus)
14. Hamlin - Souths (another key to Souths dominance great go forward)
15. Talaki - Souths ( was good a year young at centre now unstoppable in back row. Damaging runner who rarely misses with the boot either, provides versatility)
16. Sauni - Wests (cornerstone to Wests pack. Plays lock and prop providing work rate and go forward)
17. Dargan - Parra ( traditional 7 great organiser who seems a step ahead of play could easily play 9 to rest Joey and provides options over a traditional 9)

Here is my updated stab:

My changes to my original side are in BOLD

2. Alex Johnson (Souths)
1. Dallin Watene-Zalezniak (Penrith)
3. Dee-Jay Harris (Illawarra)/Sione Mata'utia (Newcastle)/Michael Morgan (Bulldogs)/Tia Kilifi (Panthers)
4. Taane Milne (Rumour has it that Taane will now dedicate himself to union at the start of May 2013)
5. John Fomai (Parramatta)
6. Zac Clay (Parramatta)
7. Brendan Cox (Canterbury)
8. Addin Fonua Blake (Matt Lodge in U/20 and Fonua showing good discipline)
9. Brad Deitz (Roosters)
10. Fosio Tatola (Balmain) (no more Jake Kamire as he looks injured)
11. Salesi Funaki (Balmain)
12. Tepai Moeroa (Parramatta)
13. Willis Meehan (Roosters) (dropped Euan Aitken who now lacks size)

14. Hame Sele (Dragons)/Tepai Tepu-Smith (Parra)
15. Moses Leota (Penrith) Rhys Armstrong (has to be a spot for him somewhere given his recent form on return)
16. Michael Morgan/Liam Knight (utility position)
17. Joey Lussick (Parramatta)/Soni Luke (Panthers)

My changes are in line with what I have seen and heard. I definitely think Milne will take out one of the centre positions as he is playing very well in the NYC and wants doing to badly in a losing SGB team! Harris, Morgan, Tia Kilifi and Mata'utia will probably fight it out for the other spot!

Zalezniak will take out the fullback role and relegate Johnson to the side for the same reason described above for Milne.

Meehan moves from bench to lock. My bench now includes Sele/Tepu-Smith for spot because of the great seasons they had in going forward. I Morgan/Knight fighting out a possible utility role on the bench as both can cover centre and back row. Both are also sound defenders!

In addition I have also added Luke purely for the great season he has had!

If Alex Johnston gets the fullback gig ahead of DWZ the selectors are kidding themselves.
