Good win and great video. Boys look liker they've got plenty of gas in the tank coming over the top of the chooks like that.

Love those next Gen highlights videos. Narration is good too.

Taine Tuaupiki is probably a little underrated and sits in an odd niche at the club. He is clearly our best NSW cup player, but being a tiny bloke, with loads of other fullbacks available, he has to play up hill to stand out. Our defence is strongest with Taine playing.

Round 15 highlights.

This is the game I was ranting about with our patience and defensive steadiness.

That first Try is a sneak preview of a potential Warriors future Center Wing Combination. Moala Graham Taufa drawing and passing to the flying Motu Pasikala. As noted in the narration, Pasikala is a rapid rise story, from SG ball to Jersey Flegg then pushed up to the NSW cup.

That second individual try of his shows we have someone who is not slow with foot work coming through in Pasikala. But Setu Tu is probably faster though (he is really quick) so I am hoping Setu Tu sorts out his handling issues and defensive reads because of that true speed he has vs these other guys that have everything else going for them.

As for Moala Graham Taufa, he is very much in the mold of Joey Leilua, big, powerful, strong fend, some footwork, and just fast enough to make him bloody dangerous on an edge. Moala has a better engine and is a prospect as an all around Center in the game, his defensive work is a real stand out.

Moala is also really good at catching kicks, he will give the NRL side a Try scoring off kicks option that has been missing since Manu (there are multiple kids with good hands in that cup group who can pluck attacking kicks out of the air, Laban has a few to his name as does Ali Leiataua). That talent for catching the ball on the fly is a mark of footballer vs an athletic type of player. Our baby Warriors these days tend to be footballers, or 'naturals' rather than Gym and field session creatures.

It is noticeable how radically different our undergraduates are in this new era where we scout Footballers over Athletes. There are a number of guys that are naturally high output players compared to our past of being flat track bullies.
After a rough start to the season we have become specialists at rolling over the top of sides and scoring the match winner in the last second of the game. As you say, this is a fitness thing as much as a desire thing. You can be desperate to run down teams all you like, but it is substance less without the motor to deliver.

This is one of the main things I like about our pretty tradesmen Aussie cheap halves no one else wanted...they try hard and compete till the end. They seem to be forming a combination too. But yeah those two boys while simplistic in their ability to set plays, do pinch Try's by virtue of being surrounded by so many threats that no one is watching them as possible strike players, which has been bagging them sneaky Try's of late.

Big change from our old model of trying to create local Halves for the NSW cup side in the assumption that this is fundamental to having a long term competitive NRL side. We used to go all in on guys like Carlos Tuimavave, Tuimoala Lolohea, Pita Godinet, Lance Hohaia.....all of whom have a running game in common, all being stand off hopeful's, none having the organizational nor kicking games to be good enough foils for a Seven at the Warriors.

Which meant they all ended up being utility guys that were too hard to fit in a single position due to (probably the clubs fault) not having a skills coach to round our their deficits and keep them as halves.
CHT is the latest half under threat of becoming the dreaded 14 Jack of all trades, however there is slither of hope that he may make it as a half should his combo with TMM continue to work. In this regard Johnson's absence is a blessing in disguise.

As I have said before, I like what McFadden and the Coaches have done. Have four NRL level halves. Two NSW cup place holders that probably will never make the top side permanently, while grooming teenage sensation halves below them. It means there is depth for the NRL without looking at those cup halves, and it means the Kids underneath the cup halves do not have to worry about being blocked by people ahead of their pathway to reserve grade. Jack Thompson for example should and will replace Ben Farr as soon as he is ready for Cup.

The Warriors had a great game yesterday, beating the Raiders team, who were previously in second place on the ladder.
Really like the composition of the team. Forwards who do the job and backs with a bit of speed.
Tuaupiki deserves a break, he is just so involved, good under the high ball too... Would hate to lose him.
Farr is pretty resilient for a smaller guy and I like Going's leadership
Ed Kosi had a good game and made a good fist of Captaincy while Going was off the field.
Well worth watching.

Laban got 10 minutes for being punched? What a joke!

Not the first time a Warrior has been binned for being hit. Ali Lauitiiti got sent one time too.

The worst thing about it is Laban got head butted which gave them a try, then sent for being assaulted.

There is no kick or punch from Ale that I can see? just grappling and shoving.

I really wish one of the forwards even Ale or Laban had just landed 6 flush ones on him. You cant do 2 seperate strikes (headbutt then punching) and not face any retribution

Nah Ale got a pinch in. Caught Horsburgh. Good on him. But yeah- at least a yellow was justified for Ale
That was a bit dumb then because they had the moral high ground for the hearing.

Sifakula is a hot head, but that Ref was card happy, Maybe its me old eyes but I couldnt see a strike in the Dimitric send off either.

Not wishing to lose CNK but It would be cool to see the cousins TMM and Taine play together, both would give us short in goal kicking options you don't get with Charnze.

Plus if you want Pompey out of the team there has to be a genuine goal kicker, Taine has been going well in that department.

There wasn’t one. I’m also yet to see any evidence of a kick by Ale, and we can all see that Laban literally did nothing. The ref was seeing things.

Plus there is no mandatory send-off for punching. It’s typically a sin bin offence. If there was ever a case for sin bin at worst it was Ale defending his teammate in that situation.
