Pearce outplayed Mullen when he vs'ed him and is higher on the ladder. Give me something.... Anything... In stats that suggests Mullen is better than Pearce other than Dally M points. If you cannot, then you will go on my block list forever

Thats a win in anyones book

Anybody who suggests that a half can 'outplay' another half is a f**king dunce. It's not like a left centre up against a right centre - the halves rarely come in contact with one another.

Noticed it was BHP who made that post. Dunce is about right.

You put the two halves stats in a table and you look to see who had the better game.

Pearce did, I've already checked that. But I'm open to a rebuttal... Nobody seems to have anything of substance to oppose me though.

Will Pearce and Mullen play against each other at SOO level?

Hows Mullens stats against Thurston and Cronk? Surely that is infinitely more relevant

So you're saying Pearce > Mullen > Cronk/Thurston? Cause Pearce is better than Mullen, and you're suggesting Mullen is better than Cronk etc

C'mon man, not this craap again! Pearce is playing in a team which is leading the race for the minor premiership, while Mullens team had been outside the top 8 at the beginning of the season. The fact that Mullen is playing as good as he is now in the team that he is in is a testament to the class of the guy. If you go by who outplayed who when they're clubs met than Adam Reynolds nd John Sutton should have had the 6 and 7 Jersey locked up this year for SOO.

Pearce has played 12 Origins and been shit in all of them. He's a key part of the reason NSW have been unable to break Queensland's dominance.

Roosters are first though...

they are now, but not any of the origin sides were selected and the bunnies also beat down the roosters in the first game. by your standards Pearce and Maloney shouldn't have been selected, do you agree? and btw, from watching NRL you would agree that Greg Bird shouldn't have gone anywhere near that side. What do you think about that? You have to be close to geniused to leave Bird out. He has always preformed at SOO level regardless of NRL form, but by you argument he shouldn't have been selected. See how flawed your case is? Pearce has played 12 origin games! I have yet to see him execute ONE peace of attacking brilliance at origin! How may chances should a guy get? Maloney deserves another chance, but Pearce has to go. In the ONE origin game that Mullen played, I saw more of an origin player than NSW most capped halfback has ever shown. Tell me, what kind of HalfBack bombs to Israel Folau's wing?

Nah, Im not saying that at all because I have watched footy for more than 10secs and realise that judging a player based on single performances is completely geniused. Even suggesting otherwise would show up a forum poster to be a complete nuff burger of the highest order

Now, Jarrod Mullen tends to play all over JT when they meet at club level, we saw it this year. However, no one would suggest that Jarrod is the better player nor would they not select JT in an Origin team because of it.

Read this post again, even a few times over if needed, until it sinks in

Good luck

You need to learn the difference between objective and subjective. Happy to talk to you when you can look at things for what they are without your red and blue glasses blinding you.

As much as I like Mullen, watching the game on Saturday reminded me of the bigger travesty. Carney getting dropped was a complete farce.

Mullen didnt do any better

Mullen was given one game as a 20 year old. Hardly comparable to the 4 series Pearce has been given.

Yep. Wrong half was dropped from last year. We're good at keeping blokes who don't perform and shafting blokes who do.

Carney was dropped in the vain hope that Maloney could prop Pearce up. Given the Roosters great year, Maloney will be seen as necessary for Pearce and he will be selected again next year. Carney will probably never see a Blues jersey again.

Mullen has one bad game in Origin, he's stamped 'Never to play Origin again'.

Pearce has one bad game in Origin, he's stamped 'Future Long-Term NSW Captain'.

Nepotism? Where's the nepotism? :whistle

You could make a pretty convincing argument that Mullen and Carney have been the best halves in NSW for most of their careers and there's a decent chance they could retire with 4 Origin games between them .

Mullen at his best has always been top 2/3 for NSW since he has came in, consistency has been his issue though, abit like Sutton (although imo he should be a backrower).
However now Mullen is showing how consistently great he is. If we make the finals, a lot of selectors eyes will be on Mullen (also Carney, A. Reynolds) and it's up to him to prove if he's up to it.
