As for the side's forward depth - Gallen, Simpson, and Mason (forgot to include him - he'd be in ahead of Tongue) can all cover prop well enough.

The other 2 backrowers (Mason is one) have to be creative or running ... not a slow workhorse like Hindmarsh/Ryan

Its Buderus or Farah ... not both and whoever plays also plays 80 minutes

Plenty of other changes needed but these 2 are obvious

Kimmorley did play ok tonight and his kicking game was pretty good ... but seriously is he the future ... i think NOT ... somebody for the future to partner Mullen is surely the way to go

As a Newcastle fan, I'd have to give that a resounding no. Kurt Gidley has been a revelation from fullback, because the weight of being a playmaker has been taken off his shoulders and he's able to chime in and out of the game at will. If you shift him back to #6, he feels a compulsion to put in long kicks and act like he's a playmaker, and it's terrible.

If I never see Kurt Gidley in the halves again, I'll be a happy man. He's a fullback or a centre or a passable hooker. He's not a half.
