The sad fact is, by the time the GF is played, SoO form is hardly ever looked at by Australian selectors and teams who went deep into finals wll have representation.

Personally, the only NSW forwards who deserve a spot would be Watmough, TLL and Lewis. The only backs would be Hayne and Morris.

This is true ... but non-selection is just another piece of fuel to fire up Queensland spirits for the next year.

Think of Trevor Gilmeister ... mostly snubbed by Australian selectors throughout his career, but regarded as an Origin legend. Same for Gary Larson and more recently Dallas Johnson.

Origin SHOULD be a prime determinant for selection as it is the most intense competition on the face of the planet, and if a player excels there, they will most definitely excel playing for their country.

Watmough offers nothing more than what Queensland backrowers do. Bench spot at best.
