Obviously if we are paid to play at ANZ, then the stadium gets a good share of the gate, catering etc. If we pay to hire then it's the other way around, either way it's a balance of risk vs return.

No ones doing anything for nothing. Whatever they ( the stadium ) are paying us to play there, it'll based upon bums on seats, the only way we get paid any more is if we get more bums on seats. Whether it's a good deal or not get's decided by that.

Not many sides would have beaten the cows tonight. They went there to win and had that look about them. I think we really need a bye to refresh and regroup.

We look to be playing busted for sure.
We also bombed four try scoring opportunities.

They do.
Well catering they do. Not sure about ticket sales.
Didn't we have to pay rent to be at Parra Stadium? I know I've heard of the Titans having to pay shitloads in rent to play at their home ground. Brisbane do too, I think.
I think if you can get a stadium to pay you anything to play there you should be happy. If Canberra gets $2m to play in Canberra (is that per year or over a few years?) then good for them. But $100k per game for us (if that is what we are getting) is fantastic!

Yeah, the ACT Government give the Raiders and Brumbies just over $2 million each year to play at the only available ground in the City. In reality, the Raiders aren't going to play amywhere else. They're also paying GWS $23 million over 10 years to pay 4 games per year in Canberra.

My understanding is that there are 2 models of stadium hire.
These are very basic details but:
1. the hirer pays for the ground and keeps all concession costs and net gate income;
2.. the hiree (stadium) pays the hirer but keeps all concession costs and net gate income ;

ANZ used to use model 2 and pay us $100k per game when we took our 3 game there from Pirtek.
Not sure on the new arrangement.

edit: just noticed others have basically said the same thing.
Will move along now.
