This may sound a little strange but could Lowie be setting this up so come RLWC time , the Kiwi coach wil be ... Graham Lowe ... i.e. - Kemble continues to perform badly and is sacked just before the tournament.

One man's thoughts ...

Interesting theory, don't think so personally. IMO which could be wrong (And often is!) I felt Kemble was picked as he isn't a bad coach (Was just unproven at that level, but I guess you don't know until you're there), but specifically for the fact he was prepared to follow whatever the NZRL wanted in terms of policy etc. Bluey from my understanding wanted full control of the team- Which I feel is what should happen, rather than this puppet syndrome we currently have.
I feel Kemble will still be there next year, depending of what happens in the NZRL of course- But can't help but feel the guy will be given more 'Advice' than he wants or needs. 'Too many Chiefs' syndrome comes to mind...Kemble will be the coach, they'll just be a couple of other 'Ghost Coaches' in the shadows! ;-)

Nikau was a great club player - not international. His coaching record to my knowledge is not that hot i.e - AVERAGE BC team plus NZ A and probably not as good as Kemble's record.

I think Nikau has a collection of wooden spoons adorning his living room wall.:D

Rubbish

He is suggesting Kemble use Bennett as a mentor and use him as a sounding board and for advice. He is not saying i want Bennett to coach the side.

The current Aussie coach used Gould in this role when he began in the NRL, and now Fittler is doing the same. To suggest it is a smart move i would have thought.

I totally disagree - players and other are all ready complaining that coaching and management is too top heavy - by adding bennett how does that help.

Problems im hearing that Kemble was never able to make any calls two assistant coaches and like how many selectors and mentors in his ears.

First thing to do is tell some of these guys to F off.

People are right if anyone is too go Lowes name should be near the top of the list. What has he done?? His position was never going to work.

Im sure chalmers etc meant well by getting all the rugby league pedigree and brains in nz together will increase our potential but I think he totally forgot about the idea of synergy.

IF nzrl want bennet ask him behind closed doors - dont say it through the media - what idiots?

Players have said trainings etc werent too nrl standards - dont need a change of head coach to solve that - through in Kearney as assistant coach as im sure he controls alot of that at storm - the elite club in the nrl.

It would add nothing to the top if Bennett was just a sounding board on the end of the phone or in a room somewhere

On that 2nd point, 8 months or however long it has been is nowhere near enough time to see how anything has worked out imo, i am prepared to give this new regime more chance to bring in their ideas fully and see how they go

on your 2nd point - worked out - well first we have to work out what Lowey role is within the NZRL.

Also - whether he is physically up to the task.

I thought part of the role was to assess domestic comp etc - well the NZRL proposal was rejected by some districts.

they need to be critical on all the current arrangements- lowey is just an example.
Especially if the finacial diffucults have some truths to them.

The answer cant simply be play more tours where we get thrashed to make some more money - that will only help in the short run - b'coz sooner or later we will become a second tier nation.

He has made big changes to the domestic stuff, some his ideas and some the provinces ideas, and that is the main point i would like to give time and see how it develops

Question if your Coach hypothetically had been on a bender, and was say sprawled unconcious on a North English Bar, and your teammates were writing on him with a felt marker, would you still want him as your coach? Wouldn't you want the best coach your sport could offer? Even if he wasn't a Kiwi?

Is that a hypothetical question, fact or insinuation. Sounds like you are insinuating without insinuating.

Personally I would like the best New Zealand Coach available first,(granted , if he is up to international standard) then I would go for the the best coach otherwise. Kiwi teams generally play with more pride/passion than an aussie side. Would you want the worlds best coach to temper that?

That particular story, and others, in a similar vein, was sent on the rounds by
folks with agendas. Disgruntled folks who could not get their own way.
