Aussies don't whinge. We leave that to the poms and Sri Lankans.

How could you when he's about 2 centimetres in front of his stumps. Top of middle and leg quite comfortably.

I don't have a prob with it however if it was an Aussie bowler and a batsmen from another country then a pom or Sri Lankan would of started a thread about umpire bias over that decision.

pack your bags Hussey - looks like you will be in England for the ashes series - a top innings and another one from Clarke - How good is Clarke going to be in another 3 years?? Can he improve?? If he can stand aside batsmen of the world you will be looking at the "Prince of Batsemen"
Kevin "the Don" Pieterson has him covered. He already has more centuries than Clarke in like 50 less ODI's.

I rate Vettori (or whatever) very highly...he is always around the mark - he puts pressure on batsmen and is one of the best finger spinners in the world

Pfft, who cares where he was born. He now lives in England and loves England...kind of like Clyde Rathbone(sp?) really. ;-)

Peerless infielding from Andrew Symonds once again. To quote the Final Dig with a bit of poetic license..

He's a fielding deity Andrew Symonds. I worship him and so do thousands of others around the world. There are some that believe that his poo is actually pure white and has no smell whatsoever, and I'd believe it!

He is a phenomenon in the field this man. Absolutely and utterly ruthless and faultless. Time and time again!

Fleming is Brett Lee's bunny, what is it, 4 out of the last 5 innings he has dismissed him?

Also, just saw the replay of Papps getting hit. Dear o dear that was poor batting by someone coming in at number three. Both balls were perfectly avoidable

Cairns better play a good innings. He's just sold Hamish Marshall up the river with a ridiculous single attempt.

Some of these 'senior' New Zealand players need to take a good long hard look at themselves. Fleming is looking awful, Astle is batting as if its a 5 day test match and seemingly protecting his average, Cairns is either running people out or batting poorly, Tuffey is just playing disgracefully. If they had the heart and energy of the young blokes, McCullum, Vettori and the Marshall's this would be a half decent series. I cannot believe, time and time and time again they force themselves into a position of being in a great position to close the door and shut out a victory, only to either let the middle order get away or to self destruct.

Faced anyone at 150 clicks recently? Its expected sooner or later something will happen.

He averages 50 odd so far in his ODI career, so he's not the worst with the bat.

I think the Aussie ODI side is looking settled for the immediate future, the reserve batsmen spot looks to be sewn up by Katich and Hussey.

I think this chase has escaped the Kiwi's somehow. 116 from 78 looks a bit stiff.

No I havent, but plenty of other number threes in first class cricket have and manage not to stick their head in the way of the ball!

Fair enough against late middle order and tail enders ducking into a ball in that fashion, but a number three?

If Papps plays in the tests, he is going to get peppered now by Lee, who I believe will get the nod ahead of kasper.

Was their much expectation on the kiwis in kiwi land? cos it seems to me your senior players havent copped with being expected to really compete and go close to beating australia, you've gone backwards!

Martin Crowe had his jaw broken by Bruce Reid.

Then he came back, faced a barrage of short pitched deliveries and peeled off 140 odd after retiring hurt.

There have been plenty of top order players sconned, this one though made a mark. Thats the only difference.

Papps is a very good player, he'll learn. He's not the only one - this isn't a landmark feat, and there certainly have been fine players who have been hit and hit hard and there's also ones that players have taken the blow and been able to get on with it. Crowe, Rick McCosker springs to mind, etc. etc. Thats part of cricket, particularly against 150k's over 22 yards.
