50 partnership for last wicket

Southee 47* off 27 balls, and Tom just hit a 4

76* 9th 6

fun innings, shame one of the top order bats didn't have the fortitude to make it worthwhile

probablythe biggest partnership Tom's ever been part of!

"Wow! Southee now has more runs than Martin in Test cricket - and he's played one Test to Martin's 40!"

LOL

About time NZ went with some youth and what a game he had. 5 for and then a farkin brilliant innings.

Did IPL pick him up?

No, IPL didn't

I just worry that we have a history of bowling young kids into the ground, often simplky because our batsmen are hopeless, so we have to back up quickly

There are a number of very good kids around, but only 1 tier, not the depth you guys have

he batted after Vetorri in the first innings, and Broad worked him over with short stuff... I guess that's why he batted lower. I think he batted at 6 or so in the u/19 team... could be a useful all-rounder in the long run

Sad to see Flemings farewell. But I will admit I had just about reached breaking point with his inability to convert 50s, it became more of a factor after he lost the captaincy too IMO.

I think this will be a long few years for NZ, but we look set for a pretty good era after that.

i dunno, promising bowler to compliment a solid if not spectacular bowling attack. Batting is obviously the problem but Taylor seems to have been coming along nicely in this series. Alot of people have to step up thats for sure.

Well done England on a good turn around after that diabolical first test.

Still played only to half our ability, but fortunately it was enough. We will have to play alot better against the likes of Australia, India and RSA in future.

Damned embarrassong when your No. 10 bat topscores for you on debut as a bowler.
Good on him. But our whole order needs a good wake-up call.

Oh yeah and sack that clown Bracewell.

Pretty good tour really, from the 20/20s, o/ds, and the tests. Swings and roundabouts, some good individual performances, but entertaining cricket all through. Went pretty much as expected, NZ winning the o/ds and England too strong in the Tests.

For the Kiwi's our brittle batting order was once again the problem and doesn't look like being remedied any time soon. Sidebottom was outstanding for the poms. I like how he plays but i doubt he'd be able to run through the Aus,Ind, or SAF line ups like ours.

Our bowlers went well, with England only making in excess of 400 once. But on the flip side our batsman let us down again with us only making in excess of 400 once as well.
