What's a sure fire way of generating media attention??

Post something on social media about the media not respecting your privacy. Foran isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Danny Nikolic gave Hayson girlfriend’s betting account

Disgraced jockey Danny Nikolic has admitted allowing former Sydney brothel owner Eddie Hayson to use his girlfriend’s betting account, while defending the colourful racing identity at the centre of an NRL match-fixing investigation.

Nikolic yesterday gave sworn evidence about his close relationship with Mr Hayson after barristers for Racing Victoria raised it as an indicator of bad character warranting Nikolic’s continued riding ban.

NSW police, working with the NSW Crime Commission, have formed a strikeforce to probe match-fixing allegations surrounding three NRL games involving Manly during the past two years. Mr Hayson has denied the allegations and said he never exerted leverage over NRL players who he said were provided with free sex at his establishment.

Nikolic yesterday told the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal he had provided Mr Hayson with a PIN to access the betting account of Nikolic’s partner, Tania Hyett, but denied Mr Hayson was trying to “disguise” his identity from authorities.

The Caulfield Cup-winning jockey said Mr Hayson had used the account only once or twice, betting about $10,000, which he had earlier deposited as money owed to Nikolic. Nikolic denied betting $100,000 on a 2015 NRL match on his friend’s behalf or betting on two other games.

Tribunal deputy president Heather Lambrick refused Racing Victoria’s bid to have Nikolic’s subpoenaed financial records examined for further links to Mr Hayson, after barrister Jeff Gleeson QC said Nikolic’s version needed to be tested.

“The man is an admitted perjurer,” Mr Gleeson said, arguing it was relevant for the tribunal to hear whether Nikolic had been involved in “surreptitious large-scale betting” with Mr Hayson.

Nikolic told the tribunal he was a regular gambler, betting hundreds of thousands of dollars on AFL, NRL and tennis over the past few years, but had never bet on horse racing even while he was disqualified.

The jockey is seeking the return of his licence, which was suspended in 2012 after he allegedly threatened Racing Victoria chief steward Terry Bailey at a race meeting.

Nikolic has admitted lying about swearing at Mr Bailey in evidence to a disciplinary hearing and appeal, saying he had been a “smart-arse” but was now a “better person” after receiving psychological counselling and would try to stay away from Mr Bailey. He has denied threatening Mr Bailey with words including: “We’ve all got families, c..t. We know where your’s lives.”

Shots were fired at Mr Bailey’s Melbourne home last October as he relaxed with his wife and teenage daughters in the backyard.

Nikolic has denied any involvement, telling the tribunal yesterday that he didn’t want to race in Victoria again “until Terry Bailey moves on or retires”.

“I won’t get a fair go,” he said.

“I know that he has perjured himself.”

The jockey has spent two days in the witness box testifying about his history of criminal charges and convictions, violent outbursts and altercations with stewards.

Mr Hayson is not among the remaining witnesses, a list that includes a taxi driver who Nikolic assaulted in 2013 and fellow jockey Mark Zahra. Nikolic has denied offering Zahra a bribe in a 2011 race involving Smoking Aces, ridden by Nikolic.

The hearing continues.

From SMH - http://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket...-its-fascinating-reading-20161019-gs6b4s.html

Meanwhile, the Warriors are continuing their public relations blitzkrieg in a bid to have Kieran Foran registered to play next season.

Foran is training with the Warriors players and last week posted an image on Instagram of him churning away on the bike alongside winger Manu Vatuvei.

In recent days, halfback Shaun Johnson says NRL officials "are going to see that he is better and it should all be pretty straightforward". Chief executive Jim Doyle says he "expects" Foran will be allowed to play.

You can set your watch to Foran's soft interview with a favourable media outlet in the next few weeks about how he's "turned the corner".

It would be great to see Foran back playing footy at some stage, but there's a long process ahead if he's to be registered for next season.

The integrity unit started receiving a raft of information this week and is wading through the details.

Parramatta are watching the matter closely. Expect fireworks of New Year's Eve proportions if Foran is cleared to play.

I doubt Max will care. When Foran's $800k (reported) on the cap turned into $1.2M (reported) on the cap, I'm sure we were happy for his mental health issue to only last as long as it took to cancel his contract.

Sydney Roosters recruiter Peter O'Sullivan cops indefinite ban from NRL

Roosters recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan has copped an indefinite ban after the NRL deemed he wasn't a fit and proper person for registration.

The sanction against O'Sullivan, one of the best talent spotters in the game, relates at least in part to his association with notorious punter and brothel owner Eddie Hayson.

Hayson, who deposited more than $700,000 in O'Sullivan's TAB account over a number of years, denied he ever gained any financial benefit from their friendship.

O'Sullivan has been sidelined since mid-August, with the NRL opting to suspend him after he responded to an intention to cancel his registration. It's understood O'Sullivan is considering whether to appeal the decision.

Asked last month, during a press conference arranged by celebrity spruiker Max Markson, whether O'Sullivan had ever provided him with inside information, Hayson said: "Um, I don't believe so. I've known Peter for a long time so I want to be very accurate in what I say. No, I don't believe he has."

O'Sullivan was at the Melbourne Storm during the salary cap scandal but escaped sanction. Former NRL chief executive David Gallop said only legal advice prevented the governing body from recommending O'Sullivan be sacked from his subsequent job with the Roosters.

The NRL's former salary cap auditor Ian Schubert uncovered evidence that O'Sullivan failed to disclose third-party payments in player contracts. He was also found to have "deliberately concealed" the real amount paid to at least two players.

O'Sullivan is considered one of the best game's best judges of talent, having unearthed a slew of superstars including Greg Inglis and Israel Folau. More recently, he has been credited with bringing exciting fullback Latrell Mitchell to the Roosters.

The Organised Crime squad is continuing to examine betting patterns on at least three NRL games to determine whether any criminal offences have been committed. The Manly Sea Eagles are the common denominator in all three matches.

Well if O'Sullivan gets hooked for a sketchy association with Hayson, then Foran is never going to get clearance.
