'socialism is the biggest murderer of civilians the planet has ever seen' - Not even close I'm afraid.

That (dis)honour would have to go disease introduced to indigenous cultures, followed closely by despotism.. both of which are the result of common greed. A trait more closely aligned to capitalism than socialism, not that the millions of victims would have been so interested in arguing the finer points.

If you're going to group Nelson Mandela as Gerry Adams then axiomatically you'll have to include George Washington, Simon Bolivar and William Wallace. May as well throw the Dalai Lama and Mahatma Gandhi for what it's worth, seeing as we're just making it up as we go.

And speaking of for what it's worth, if my country and people were oppressed by a foreign culture as was the case in South Africa, I only hope that I and others like me would show half the determination, courage and grace of a man like Nelson Mandela.

WELL SAID.

Thanks for posting that, the truth can sometime cloud a 'good story' !
I thought the Stadium name FNB (pronounced effen'b' ) went a long way in describing quite a few of the "dignitaries" ....
Perpetrators of Death headed by Obama (drone director), Bush ( should not be free to walk this earth ), Kissinger, Mugave ....just to name a a small portion of the crooks that were in attendance

Rabid one-eyed political bias may be amusing but it never made for particularly enlightening argument.

The Nazis had laws which could be quoted to portray Germany's mid 20th Jewish population as 'criminals'... But that would make as much sense as arguing that a mere 300 years defeats a basic principle of morality.. Or claiming that the mass murders of psychotic despots can be attributed to socialism simply because said despots chose the misnomer communism over fascism and wore khaki jumpsuits with a red star badge on their cap
