A bit of a loser club to be in. Not sure you want to be the king of the losers.
A bit harsh, lol, not everyone can be part of the dominant team... some of the greatest players in history haven't won a World Cup - without thinking about their relative greatness as ODI players, Greg Chappell, Dennis Lillee, Richard Hadlee, Ian Botham, David Gower etc from the Windies period - and of course in Australia's dominant period, plenty more...

Brian Lara springs to mind as well.

You would be pretty unlucky to miss out on a world cup win if your a great ODI player for Australia in the past 25 years.

Every generation has tasted success since mid 90s.

He'd be very high up there. Let's be honest, he has a claim to best white ball opener of all time. I'm not sure he takes it (and tbh I don't think any one player would) but his record is insane and so are the records he's set.

I'd have him in my best ODI side, probably alongside Jayasuriya if you're opening with two genuine bats.
For the players I’ve seen the top tier of openers would probably be Sehwag, Gilchrist, Sharma, Jayasuria, Gayle & Sachin.

Gun to my head to pick two I probably go with Jayasuria and Gilchrist, the latter nudges it to get a keeper in the side. Jayasuria if only for being one of the original fast scoring openers.

$6 million is a decent pay check, I just wonder how much of this filters down to the players once CA et al take thier cut
