need 107 to win first test in India.

Weather and Bumrah permitting. I hope we just come out swinging. Conway can finish it early if he goes for it and stays in.

I'm scarred by my 1980s team. They'd push and prod (Wright and Edgar, I'm looking at you) and it'd be torture chasing a small total. Hadlee and Cairns were sometimes called on early in order to finish it.

I love and hate the Black Caps.

WTF? Lots of whiteys from the NRL get a slap on the wrist. F-ing Lodge still has a career after his hijinks.

Shitty post from a usually good poster.
It’s about the blokes actions mate, he had plenty to say afterwards about the Spencer incident and fair enough, imo he dragged it on longer than he needed too, and it come out that he has plenty of crap to say out on the field too that isn’t too complimentary to others. Just a couple of weeks ago he was in strife in Bali too

Aplolgies if you’ve taken offence, my thoughts on Lodge and other braindead ‘whitey’ idiots like him are fairly well known, not just Ezra, GI, Latrell and co

But why could JAC not do same, aside from being liberal with the truth

Guess Ezra can say he has PTSD from Spencer saying mean things to him - Broncos seem to have some problems with dickheads atm though
JAC tried the act dumb and lie defence, Gus saw straight through him in the end. He may have played his during his covid indiscretion as well

Mt Smart was rocked and rolled yesterday with the new Auckland FC beating Brisbane in their A-League debut.

It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out. Like League I didn't want a second NZ team in the Aussie comp. I didn't think we had the support, numbers, money, player pool, etc, to make it work.

Plus, who do I support now? It's been the Phoenix for over ten years, but Auckland are cool too.

I'm upset with myself when I think about ditching the Warriors after 30 years too. What rattled me last night is that I reckon I would 'jump ferry' to a Christchurch-based team.

I hope they go shit, simply because their plan is to kick speedway, which has been there since 1929, out of Western Springs and take that over

Honestly, if DWZ can learn to defend properly - and he's entitled to, he's been in the NRL for 10 years plus - then I think he's absolutely a re-signing success story. But he's a massive liability on D. No doubt it's up to us to use our width better to create the sort of opportunities he took in 2023, because he is one of the best finishers in the NRL. But he has to get better on the other side of the ball - teams know he's a woeful defender.

He's not learning anything new now. We know what he is. I just hope he took a haircut...in terms or his pay, not his hair.

I said in the cricket forum, last night's win is top 3 as far as Test wins go.

1- India, Southhampton, 2021
2- India, Bengalaru, 2024
3- Australia, Brisbane, 1985

Wasn't he said to be on $850k in his current contract? I hope he got a kina, full head shave from that number. A winger of his ability, if you ignore marketability/mana etc, would be $300-400k. I presume he got a bit more. I doubt other teams were beating down the door.

You're right, he probably won't learn, but bloody hell he's entitled to after 10 years.

I'd have this one higher than Southampton, I know it was the WTC final but those conditions suited us outrageously. These ones did too, but it is a different challenge in India.

Hobart 2011 would be up there, too. All on pretty sporting pitches, apart from 85 (I presume).

Will be a different jug of gravy when India dry up the next deck and try to spin the daylights out of us.

Initially. I think he was signed on fullback money. Still, outrageous, and I'm sure it's been rectified somewhat, even if we're still paying overs. At least, I hope so

Southampton is probably at the top for me as it represents an entire campaign. In the same way, @JJ made the point that the sheen may come off this game if we don't do well in the next 2 games.

I have no issues with giving him shit for his actions, but considering judicial structures in colonial societies the race card comment annoyed me a bit, but it's all good.

Bit like the 1991 Kiwis V Roos series where we got pumped game 2 and 3

we have been spoiled by good performances over the last decade, that close one v the Poms a couple of years back sticks in the memory

White Ferns
How fkn good
And out of nowhere !!

Had long lost faith in them, which has been sad a I know a number of current and past players, but the current coach I have heard interviewed a few times, and I was impressed. Craig McMillan has been a huge signing to the coaching staff as well and you can see his influence in their fielding standards
