I’m happy for them to just show old games but, as mentioned the lack of variety is annoying. How many old games would they have archived? Shitloads. So why not show as many as possible?

Yep same stuff. I know they have just about every televised Broncos game since their inception, but you wouldn't know it.

What do you mean by a lack of variety? Haven't seen any games repeated in the last several weeks.

From what I’ve seen the same fan days are on loop, in rotation.

Example I saw the dragons one a few weeks ago, and flicked through the programming of each, and recorded the 79 gf, as it was the only one I was keen to look at. Then when the dragons day rolled around again - bingo - all the same games. Some were really obscure too.

They did have a period of 80’s games, then 90’s I think. Before the fan days which were ok.

But overall lazy programming for mine...

A weekly show hosted by Voss with a Steve Mascord segment updating the international scene would have been worthwhile and appreciated. But we got endless replays. Have enjoyed the Fan re runs! And especially the 80's and early to mid 90s games. But a weekly magazine style show hosted by Vossy would have been enjoyable!

Do they just not pay the presenters and crews in the off season? Only reason I can think of why you'd go 3 months with no content production.

It has been pathetic. I can't believe how disrespectful they have been to their number one product. At least last year we had 360 for a good chunk of the early part of the off season. This year nada. The only reason I and many other tens of thousands even have foxtel is because of the NRL and they simply shut shop 3 months during the off season. What a spit in the face.

This is a time that they could have at least one or two new shows with maybe young talent, male and female presenting and see how they go. Have different guests each week, players, coaches, CEO's, juros, show decent footage of club presentation nights, new recruits that have picked up contracts with clubs interviewed about who they are where their from and aspirations, in depth player movement discussion and rule changes. Can discuss the NRL's ridiculous press statement on liberal interpretation for attacking football. Trial different formats and so on ffs. Endless opportunities and options. Doesn't have to be a fixed concept, can be different every week.

Just create variety and see what works and what doesn't. Hell they can even set each segment up with a press the green button for like this segment, blue button for don't mind is ok and the red button for don't like. Be adventurous ffs. This off season they could of done monthly segments on the new WSS Stadium and had a reporter down on the ground with great new HD footage of different parts of the stadium and get all league fans excited and salivating for its opening. They have very little to lose and heaps to gain if they did this right.

Ratings would not be an issue as it is the off season and I hardly think that boring old replay after replay draws that many viewers anyway. I know it doesn't do it for me. I like fresh new content and who knows they may even unearth a new and young talent that would never of had a chance if not for this type of experimental period during each off season. You know just like clubs do with open day trials.

But instead we get sweet f all. Like I said a spit in the face for 3 months. No respect. Arse hats that keep biting the hand that feeds them.

With the Panthers day, it was the same matches as previous years but they did chuck in one 2018 match this time round.

All the main presenters would be on contracts with built in benefits, bonuses and holiday periods. I doubt any contract would have a 3 month stipulated holiday period. That is why they could have Ikin and Kent do 360 during the 2017 off season right up to just before Xmas I think on Kent's suggestion. I don't think Ikin liked it though. The non regulars would be getting appearance fees.

I haven't seen anything in the way of new content on Fox Footy either. I imagine they've done their research and realised it's probably not worth the outlay when they have a huge library of archival footage to run.

For what it's worth I haven't seen any repeated games this summer as yet, so maybe you're just unlucky @LeagueXIII

I remember they showed the 1984 finals series, the minor preliminary semi and final between Parra and St.George back to back, only problem was they showed the preliminary semi both times and NO final (this was the game Parra won in the last minute).

Bloody idiots.

Exactly, we have had the World Cup venue announcements overnight broadcast on the BBC, yet we get nothing.
The clowns running the NRL need this sort of stuff included in contracts when doing the rights to help promote and push the game.
We need a steady build up of material about the international game until the World Cup.

Only thing Id have watched is some of the SL world club challenge games, they'd have been good for a laugh. Replays are sooo boring mostly. I think the French league has one or two games on TV a week, they could have picked them up for a pittance to give us some content and had a couple of commentators from Oz overlaying the commentary. They used to do this in UK 20 years ago and was good for a laugh as the commentators were quite colorful in their remarks.

There's one or two Grand Final's being shown over the next day or two - including a couple of re-runs of the 2018 decider (which you'd expect during the same off-season tbh).

Beyond tomorrow it looks like they've refreshed the club days format for the next fortnight, making it exclusively about each clubs' best matches of 2018 only.

(This of course is interspersed with live and replayed Super League matches which begin tomorrow morning as well as the Super League fulltime show at the end of each round).

Foxtel should have access to all games from 1998 directly. Unless they don't have access to the Channel 9 games in the early years

Ch10, Ch7 and ABC coverage were mainly pre Pay-TV

I don't think that's in question at all. They appear to have full access to everything from what I can tell.
have fox sports indicated when shows like 360 and matty johns are starting up again?
Not sure but I wouldn't expect much before the week prior to the season.
