So yet another example, Souths took Anasta through his junior days, Canterbury developed him into a first Grade footballer, and the roosters throw $$$ at him and they secure him. Do you roosters people ever feel guilty and that when you win it means sh*t all because all you have done is written a cheque?

What did Cantebury throw him? the scraps off the table that SBW and Mason hadn't wolfed down. Don't moan about it, it's not <2002 anymore and your club made a choice forced on them by cap restrictions. Again the mind boggles at the contract given to Shifty Sherwin...

And also, if anything, the Bunnies would've been the ones throwing the $$$ at Anasta (just as happened with Harrison).

Mason and Anasta were told that the first one in would get the offer. Mason made his decision for reasons other than money, Anasta got greedy.

bullsh*t about Mason, he held the dogs to ransom just like Anasta, he just caved in quicker.
Loyal players do what Ryles, Timmins, Thompson, Barrett and Bailey did; and take up lesser offers to stay loyal to a club that stayed loyal to you.
Anasta did the smart thing for his career.
I feel sorry for Souths, but Anasta had a choice between playing for a club with all the right connections for success, and playing for a club treated as a pariah.
The Roosters can offer him far more than taxable income. Fair or unfair that's how it works. Anasta will stay an Origin player whilst he is a Rooster.

Same for Harrison. If a cat like Crocker can get into the QLD Origin squad by playing for the Roosters and getting exposure, imagine what it's going to do for a genuine talent like Harrison.

Anasta has just confirmed he is overrated as far as I'm concerned.

He took less money to go to a more successful club rather than help re-build an unsuccessful one that happens to be his junior club.

Nowhere is it reported that Anasta took less money than the reported $4M ($800K 5 year) package that the Rabbitohs offerred.

Braith was originally offerred a $225K deal with the Dogs.

This was later upgraded to $400K with the stipulation that there was also an equivilent Willie Mason offer on the table and whoever took it first would mean that the other would have to look elsewhere for a $200+K contract.

Braith ummed and aahhed about league / union and was once again overlooked for the Origin squad.

A meeting then included Gallop.

Suddenly, Gould begins singing his praises at every opportunity.

Braith decides to stay with League.

Braith included in SOO2.

Rabbitohs talk up an $800K per year package.

Mason accepts Dogs offer, Braith told to look elswhere.

Barrett no longer included in Blues squad despite being fit.

Braith meets with Roosters heirarchy in Blues dressing room after SOO3.

Braith talks up Stuart as best coach.

Roosters sign Harrison (Rabbitohs best player)

Roosters sign Braith.

So in summary, Anasta has signed with the Roosters for either above or below $200k, or above or below $800k. Thanks for your input.

If Anasta came to Souths he would of been treated as a saviour to the club.

He's at the Roosters - 5 years after he retires people will be like Braith Who?

Have fun Braith, if it wasnt for Souths you wouldnt be playing football

Oh well another Souths junior added to the list
LOL....look at who's in your first grade team and where they got their wings (pardon the pun). Cusack? Heggarty? McDOugall? Rigon? Minichiello? Logan??? oooooohhh yeah lots of Souths input there....

lol. Are you seriously that naive?

No, Mason took the offer that was on the table and said that he was fine with re-signing because Canterbury are a successful club, whereas Anasta was looking for the Golden Dollar elsewhere.

Do you reckon the Roosters offered Anasta more than Souths? Or did Anasta want play for a successful club?

Moran, Manukafoa, Champion, Sutton, Gordon, Bell, Hanbury, McPherson...that's 8 juniors in our first grade squad.

Compare that to your 2, soon to be 1.

Cant see how the roosters could have beaten the offer from souths. They have a ton of cap to spend. Definitely he wanted to go to a successful club

Shame they don't all care enough about your beloved club to turn up for training.

Why do you think they can't settle on a combination?...because players HAVE to get punished for not turning up.

...I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS IS TRUE!

imagine if he stayed with the dogs?

"well done braith"
"it's for the good of the team that he stayed"
"we love you braith"

the club would be burning all the sticky undies sent to them.
