So yet another example, Souths took Anasta through his junior days, Canterbury developed him into a first Grade footballer, and the roosters throw $$$ at him and they secure him. Do you roosters people ever feel guilty and that when you win it means sh*t all because all you have done is written a cheque?

The Roosters can offer him far more than taxable income. Fair or unfair that's how it works. Anasta will stay an Origin player whilst he is a Rooster.

Same for Harrison. If a cat like Crocker can get into the QLD Origin squad by playing for the Roosters and getting exposure, imagine what it's going to do for a genuine talent like Harrison.

He took less money to go to a more successful club rather than help re-build an unsuccessful one that happens to be his junior club.

Nowhere is it reported that Anasta took less money than the reported $4M ($800K 5 year) package that the Rabbitohs offerred.


Braith was originally offerred a $225K deal with the Dogs.

This was later upgraded to $400K with the stipulation that there was also an equivilent Willie Mason offer on the table and whoever took it first would mean that the other would have to look elsewhere for a $200+K contract.

Braith ummed and aahhed about league / union and was once again overlooked for the Origin squad.

A meeting then included Gallop.

Suddenly, Gould begins singing his praises at every opportunity.

Braith decides to stay with League.

Braith included in SOO2.

Rabbitohs talk up an $800K per year package.

Mason accepts Dogs offer, Braith told to look elswhere.
