Not any surprises to be honest. I think this team will struggle to score enough points to beat QLD though. Well done to Simmo, Bedsy and Gids again. Its probably a good thing that Mullo was not picked i guess.

What a disgraceful looking NSW side. I don't think I'm even going to watch the game. Lyon still in the side? King playing out of position again on the wing? Sure, Mullo missed out and that's a good thing for us, but putting Bird in at five-eight when he doesn't even play there for his club? We struggled to score points in game two, and its pretty much the same team.

Congrats to Kidley though. He'd better not get injured again

Tony, I hate playing devil's advocate, but it could be a sad finish for Bedsy to possibly end his rep career. A backside spanking is not out of the equation.

Blues name team for Game III

The New South Wales selectors have taken a gamble on Cronulla utility Greg Bird at five-eighth for Game III of the 2007 State of Origin series.

He will join team-mate Brett Kimmorley in the halves, with Newcastle youngster Jarrod Mullen losing out entirely.

Paul Gallen has been selected at lock, with Andrew Ryan and Nathan Hindmarsh both in the back-row.

Willie Mason has been switched up to prop again along with Manly’s Brent Kite. Brett White has been dropped altogether.

On the bench things are pretty much as expected with hard heads Steve Simpson and Luke Bailey listed. Ryan Hoffman gets another shot and after some strong performances following his injury, Kurt Gidley makes a return to Origin football from the bench.

The full squad is:

Blues: Brett Stewart, Matt King, Jamie Lyon, Matt Cooper, Jarryd Hayne, Greg Bird, Brett Kimmorley, Brent Kite, Danny Buderus (c), Willie Mason, Nathan Hindmarsh, Andrew Ryan, Paul Gallen.
Interchange: Luke Bailey, Steve Simpson, Ryan Hoffman, Kurt Gidley.

I suspect Kidley will fail the medical.
He has been playing with needles - they won't take him into NSW camp is he isn't fit to train properly.

I don't mean to be rude, but I hope he does - I'll bet your bottom dollar that Kidley will be wasted as hooker for Buderus for the last 20 mins and QLD increase the scorline from 30-8 to 50-8 or something...

In fact I'd rather them all not play because that team is a waste and is on a one way trip to a royal spanking!

What a surprise, I was expecting Mullen to be in the 6.

I dont know what to feel, a bit of happy and sad.

Glad he'll be playing the Souths, but not too happy that they had Bird over him.

So by the looks of the selections, the only person that the selectors held responsible for the first game loss was Mullen. I mean, they gave Anasta another run game two but when it came time for Mullen to be given the chance to redeem himself, the pick ANOTHER lock, to play out of position.

It really is time for the NSW selectors to just give it up. The perfect opportunity to select for the future and they f**king blow it.

Oh well. We got our best possible halves combo for the game on friday.

Jamie Lyon again. WTF! Seriously what are they thinking. If Mullen is meant to be the future then he should be there at number 6 for this game. I too, would rather see Kids fail the fitness test if he is only going to end up running on late in the second half as a hooker. A total waste of his tallent. So glad i didn't try and get tickets to game three.

I would imagine Gidley would play at 5/8 with Bird moving to the backrow. I don't think Mullen should of been there and it was a mistake to pick him in game one.

That's crap. I hate that team. The sad thing is that Qld won't give a flying fruit cake whether they win or not and NSW will win. Then the selectors will see themselves as justified in there selections and we'll see basically the same 17 trotting around and getting spanked next year.

Sometimes I hate being a New South Welshmen.
