We are trying to groom them to play first grade for the Eels remember? Where defense is always optional...

Our general play defence was actually pretty good but every time the Sharks got into our red zone in the first half they just about scored. Goal line defence improved in the second half, although that was balanced with increased handling errors.

So Fui has been dropped? If correct I reckon this indicates Arthur is the real deal, to drop Fui takes balls and most coaches would just wait until the end of the season when he retires

Arthur takes no bullshit and drops whoever aren't in form, didn't take long to drop Kelly and no Fui the squad is on notice

I should have mentioned it earlier champ but Lichaa is the one who drops off the extended NRL bench for Cronulla after playing today.

The obvious one here is Fui out and Junior Paulo in.

The other 3 could indicate all manner of chaos..

Pritchard in for Peats
Kelly in for Sandow or The Plane (with Norman to go back to FB)
Faraiamo in for The Plane (with Sio back FB)

If we assume Sandow, Hayne and Peats were still all uncertain starters as of today, then the omissions all make sense as potential cover players.

I reckon they'd know already whether Sandow headed to Qld for a funeral or not, and their earlier assessments of Hayne and Peats recovery might have been banking on that extra time before a Monday game. Here's hoping all three could play, but if all three can't then we have our three shadow players ready.

Ballsy move by Arthur to drop Fui to Wenty in favour of Junior Paulo. I reckon Fui will still get a few more first game games before the end of the season, even if only through injury to others. Good to see Mossop get a game under his belt, though I reckon he'd need another couple at least to get back up to potential first grade match fitness.

Yes we did. Our goal line defence in the first half was truly awful. It was better in the second half but we made sure to turn over plenty of possession in order to balance it all out.
