Plenty of grumbling about the referee from the despondent home crowd but the Dogs received their share of marginal calls in the first half. The effort in the final 20min from Wenty was superb and proved to be just enough to reel in the lead that the home team amassed in the earlier stages of the game.

Bureta Faraimo was outstanding for Wenty on the left wing. Some clinical work under the high ball and a number of bullish runs - highlighted by an incredible individual effort for the game winning try - went a long way towards Wenty getting the two points today.

Ryan Matterson injected himself into the game in the second half with some classy line breaks and line break assists while Moi Moi, Ualesi and Ma'afu won the ground war in the back end of the game. For all the criticism I threw at him, Foran produced some quality moments but is miles from a dominant half.

So, Wenty come away with the win in adverse conditions - created largely by themselves- once more. This will ensure that they remain on top of the table and pending the result of the Penrith came - perhaps sole leaders of the NSW Cup.

Cheers fellas.

Wenty have been fairly inconsistent over the last few weeks but what I probably haven't conveyed properly is the amount of roster changes they have had in that time. The likes of Kelly, Morgan, Hunt, Smith and Edwards have been in and out of the team, not the mention a large number of NYC and part-timers that have been late additions and exclusions.

They have been quite painful to watch but have still come away with the victories so well done to all involved. Hopefully they will carry their form forwards from the final 20min in yesterday's game, which better resembled the kind of footy that Wenty was playing earlier in the season.

Pretty good. The opening exchanges of the game were pretty brutal with the Dogs surprising Wenty with ridiculously good line speed and some stinging defence. Kelepi got nailed once but got back up and kept going at it, combining nicely with Fui.

He absolutely belted one of the Canterbury players in return in a perfectly legal hit that was so vicious that it drew audible gasps from the sparse crowd.

He also made a great linebreak at one point via a deft short ball from Fui and looked certain to put Pewhairangi away for a long range try but lost the ball as he went for the offload when a defender caught up to him.

Even though the Dogs aren't flying high in the NSW Cup this year they turned up massively for that game on Saturday. The intensity of their defence probably bordered on the level of a decent NRL team for considerable periods of time in the first half so it was a good hit out for him.
