Ualesi is starting to free his arms up in his runs but is lacking supporting runners.

Parata goes clean through and fights his forwards with the attention of 3 cover defenders. He is too trigger happy on the offload though and the ball ends up in the hands of a Newtown player.

Wenty then concede a defensive penalty for holding the runner down for too long.

Fantastic tackle there by Ben Fritz, who was filling in at fullback. Ryley Jacks goes straight through a sliding defensive line but Fritz makes the 1-on-1 tackle to save a try.

Next play, Newtown run it on their last but get caught with the ball.

Wenty to work it out.

Urgh...Luke Kelly completes that set with a half-hearted kick. Running it out wide on the last he looks to hoof it down field before changing his mind. He fishes a chip kick in behind the Jet's line on halfway but there was no chase and it runs into touch.

A good tackle from Sean Jackson jolts the ball loose giving Wenty a scrum on their own 10m line.a

On this occasion, Kelly puts a good kick up high as it sails from the 40m mark to just short of the Newtown ingoals. The fullback keeps his eyes on it and takes it cleanly but he is nailed by a flying Moeakiola who drives him back in goals to earn a drop out.

Newtown then give away a ruck penalty mid way through the repeat set.

Mistake there from newcomer Walter Vaeu as he loses the ball getting up from a tackle.

Big pressure release for Newtown as the get the scrum.

And now some misfortune for Walter as he makes a good charge down but is just beaten to the clean up by a Newtown player.

From the six again, Newtown make another break and Wenty manage to kill the ball just before their try line. They give away a penalty on the next play for an offside player and Newtown get another restart.

They go down their right with a series of cut outs and look to have some space with the final pass but the winger can't reel it in and the ref packs a 10m scrum with a Wenty feed.

Wenty complete an ordinary set with a Kelly kick that finds space between the back two but gets a very friendly bounce for Newtown.

And now fortune shines on the Magpies as they get a very lucky call in defence. What should have been a 6 again for Newtown was ruled play on and ended up as a change over.

5m left on the clock I believe.

Newtown are on the attack again as Wenty are struggling to get out of their half. The Jets come desperately close on the fourth tackle with a rampaging run to their #13. They run the ball on the last but the Wenty defenders pile on the ball carrier and drag him down inches from the try line.

Kelly opts to roll the ball into the backfield from short of halfway but the kick chase isn't fantastic and Newtown bring the ball back to 15m from halfway.

And that may prove to be critical as Newtown bust through the middle for what may be the final time today. Lazy ruck defence is punished as Henare Wells backs up yet again to complete his hat trick. Poor attempt from Heretukuku on Wells there to stop the try.

The conversion is successful as he takes an age to kick it.

Wenty have one last chance and go for the short kick off but it is taken by the Jets and the full time siren rings out.

Wenty have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today as Newtown exploited some poor defence in the middle third in the second half.

Sounds like Kelly is struggling, as bad as Roberts is he normally rips it up at that level.
