Newcastle making huge inroads off the kickoff set. Mullaney gets an awkward bounce and is trapped 3 metres off our line. Wenty with alot of work to do this set.
A better set of defence there from Wenty. Wenty ruled to have not played at a forceful grubber from Newcastle. Wenty get the scrum feed 20m out from their line.
Newcastle are also down a player due to injury. Terevano (sp) I believe.
Strong carry from Eisenhuth gets him centimetres from the line but he loses the ball as he extends his arms out and all the pressure is released for Newcastle.
O'Hanlon puts Waters (who shows some pace) through a gap with an early ball, Waters then gives it back to O'Hanlon who goes over to get Wenty back on track.
Gilbert is playing on. O'Hanlon steams onto a ball deep in the set. Nathan Smith is on and runs from dummy half on the last. Not sure if he knew it was the last tackle but he gets caught and Newcastle work it out from 30m out.
i honestly think at some stage, ricky should give POH a good run in NRL and say, this is your shot dude take it or not .... he's had a few brief glimpses in nrl, but i don't think any past coach has ever really given him a chance
Pewairianghi give Mullaney a nice inside ball and Wenty get a good play the ball. Some razzle dazzle on the following play from Harrison find Waters who grubbers and gets a supremely lucky deflection to go through and score off his own kick.
Good run and offload from Harrison put Wenty on the front foot on their kickoff set. Wenty with a big bomb that is spilled by one of our chasers. Newcastle work it out from deep in their half.
63 minutes gone.
On a side note. Peni is alot like Semi. Alot of potential there but also alot of stupid errors.
Really nice hands from the backline here as Pewairanghi streaks down the left hand side. He was covered by the fullback but turns him in and out and puts him away with the dont-argue and he goes over in the corner. He even has the cheeky Sandow salute to finish it off.
