How many of you were waiting until the final whistle blew to celebrate in the preliminary final, remembering the sad example of 1998?

Nope, I started chants with 10 to go and they got shouted down.
There was no way we were going to lose from there.

As far as I'm concerned any game against the dogs isn't over until the final whistle. I waited nervously to let rip.

I wasn't confident until about 5 to go and even then I didn't start celebrating until the last minute

You were keen..... but there have been far too many bad memories.

Mate, the way we were defending, and with what the Bulldogs were throwing at us, we weren't going to lose.
I've seen all those bad memories as well, don't forget.

I said at half time that if we keep defending the way we were, and we cut out the mistakes, we'd beat that mob. They showed me very little in the first half to suggest otherwise.

OMG.. I had no voice left by 10 mins to go.. i still don't have it back today!! BUT MY HAIR IS DONE NOW :) WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

I was too scared to Celebrate anything more than when we scored with 5 to go that's when i felt more confident.

It ain't over to the fat lady sings..... but I felt we had definitely won this game after the 30 minute mark of the 1st half. The dogs looked tired and disorganized and as the game went on, particularly in the 2nd half they just could not find anything left in their tank to lift to another level of intensity.............. while the Eels continued hammering away without loss of intensity.

For many matches now the Storm have not played against a team that can play with immense intensity and ferocity, in both defense and attack, for 80 minutes. I predict The Eels will wear the Storm out with their 2nd and 3rd and 4th phase plays reinforced by their confidence to defend ferociously for 80 minutes. Slater, Inglis, Smith, Cronk and co to be rattled and put off their game and the Eels to run away with the game 18+

When we were down by six at half-time, I thought 'wow, this is the first time we've been down at half-time for a long while'. But when we scored and made it twelve-all, I thought we were in with a big chance. I thought we had them then. I was very worried when they led by six and were attacking our line. If they'd gone in then it was game over at eighteen-six. But twelve-all, I thought we had them.
If Parramatta are within six or ten of Melbourne at half-time, we will beat them. Melbourne's big hope is to lead by a big margin at half-time - and they're capable of doing it, too. This will be a close game, I think. It will be a great game.

All being well in regard to getting a ticket it shouldn't be a problem at this stage of proceedings.....

Was a safe, yet long trip home, especially after Kate left he licence at home which meant I drove the whole way back on 3.5 hours sleep. :sleeper:

When Mortimer scored I knew we were there. At 16-12 I expecting the dogs to score at anytime though.
In fact just before mortimer scored I texted someone and said "The dogs are going to score with 30 secs leftm I just know it." I hit the send button as mortimer scored.
I followed that up with "And it ain't gonna matter!!!"

TBH, I only truly celebrated at about 1pm today when Hayne and Keating were cleared.

Enjoyed the game and loved the win - but what a cloud hanging over it!

The virtual siren for the game eventually sounded for me when the MRC indicated they could play with early pleas.

Yeah, I'm kind of the same. Was happy with the win obviously, but knowing Hayne and Keating could have been wiped diminished things somewhat. When they were cleared that's when I became real happy and excited.

Just wondering how I'm going to survive the week.
Self induced coma for a week? Wake up just in time for the game.

I started with about 4 minutes left.
