Well, its Melbourne cup day tomorrow...

I have a spare $50 just laying in my drawer.

I was wondering which horse is at best value, and most likely to win tomorrow in the main race.

Anyone have tips or personal favourites that are paying fairly well ?

Sorry if there is another topic, I thought Id make this one for the beginners.

Id get on Railings for 30 and 20 on Makybe each way, they are watering the track so he is now a decent chance

ive also limited myself, im only spending 50 bucks
am throwing 20 on Railings, 20 on Makybe Diva each way and
10 on Railings, Eye Popper and Stausberg for a trifecta

Haha, I'm having my first ever punt as well. I've got a whole $10 to my name (damn DVD buying) and my mate's told me to put it on Eye Popper. Any better/alternative suggestions?

For $50 I'd buy a carton of beer($30),$10 prawns from Woolies or Flemings(gets half a kilo or so) and put the rest on Leica Falcon.
Win or lose you'll feel happy.

I ended up putting $5 on Eye Popper and $15 for dad to choose somethin for me.

I dont think I got anything back.

I didn't get anything. Put $5 each way on Eye Popper and $2 on a boxed trifecta (Makye, Eye Popper, and Railings)

did my dash on Railings, Eye Popper and the Trifecta but got enough back on Diva each way to break close enough to even

I won close to $850. Put it on the Diva before the Caulfield Cup, so got it at $19
