Nice gesture/damage control by the NRL for having that indigenous anthem bit at the start.

Having said that, go Queensland.
You dumb twat. NRL? :lol::lol:

In NZ 'everybody' accepts the Te Reo (Maori) and English versions of God defend NZ. Perhaps one day Aussie will be in the same 'head space'.
With a 3 hour rendition of Advance Australia Fair sung in 186 indigenous dialects......

That's because white man killed them all you racist pig.
Racist post.

Even I wasn't a fan of that anthem last night. Way to butcher the Australian anthem, when was the last time we start playing aboriginal dances with saxophones, trumpets and English lyrics?

In all honesty I felt disgusted at the kind "gesture" made by Andr.....NSWRL. Kind of like a bro fist "we cool bra?"

Couldn't agree more

Maoris fought the invasion like the Warrior people they were and as such got a treaty.

Aboriginal folk. Not so much

I like to look at it the other way, the Europeans that went to New Zealand were soft and didn't take over despite having far superior firepower, it remains that way today.

The Europeans that came to Australia were good enough to actually win the battle, it also remains that way today.

When has the QRL ever done anything to promote indigenous culture ffs? It doesn't even know what a Queenslander is for crying out loud!

I thought - whilst a tad cheesy - maybe the NSWRL broke new ground by incorporating an indigenous element into the anthem for the first time. As usual - anything good is lost on the f*cktards from the north.

The QRL certainly doesn't go araound calling them black merkins. And what was life like under that rock while the Indigenous Allstars game was going on?

genius.

FMD, so recognising our indigenous brothers is now a bad thing? Bringing the heritage of both cultures is a bad thing? Gaining favour within the indigenous arena is a bad thing?

It was an excellent start to recognize our indigenous culture of our great country.

Actually we've been picking them in our teams since 1980. Not out of pity/shame/guilt but because they were/are the best players.

NSW show last night was nothing more than guilt. Should of just got Joey Johns to do an aboriginal dance, would of been less offensive.

I noticed during that anthem last night(not sure if you could see on TV) that the four Indigenous players for Queensland(Inglis, Thurston, Tonga and Thaiday) were all next to each other in the Queensland team singing the anthem. I think they were 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in the lineup.

Wasn't sure if this was intentional or not but I suspect it would have been.

Hmm it was a strange one, never seen it done before. I would think there could even be a few Aboriginals a bit offended by it.

Yeah we hide our token non-caucasian personnel in places no one will ever notice. Like the playmaker role, back row, centres, on the wing, front row and that other role know one cares about - coach.

I thought it was fantastic and well overdue as a mark of respect for the first Australians. As for your post gronk, look up Pemulwey, the Rainbow Warrior. To the bloke that asked how many aboriginal people are full blooded? What does that matter? I take it you are a pure bred then? Geez a few coming out of the woodworks today?

f**k they are 1% odd of the population
What percentage are 100% indigenous is anyone's guess
Just goes to show the squeaky wheel gets the oil eh
Pathetic pandering

2% mate and the original inhabitants of the land you call home.
The squeaky wheel gets the oil? Hardly mate. It's not like indigenous Australians have it so much better than non-indigenous.

F*cktard. The NRL didn't call anyone names either. Nor did the QRL organise the All Stars game - but I knew someone dumb would say they did.

Oh, and selecting a player is not promoting indigenous culture either. Don't bag the NSWRL for doing what the QRL never did - the biggest think tank they ever had produced Wally and giant fly spray ffs.

Who said the QRL organised the All Stars game? That being said, where was it held, and who was the driving force behind it?

If only stupidity was lethal. We'd be rid of you by now.
