The punishments were fair imo. The stuff they used was no more effective then creatine. It's hard to believe the Essedon club risked running these ineffective peptides.

No more effective then creatine?

Creatine Monohydrate actually has a heap of evidence supporting its effects on the body.
Peptides - not so much. It's not even as effective as Creatine.

But when the club is also giving 8000 doses of Tribulus, it doesn't surprise me they are using pointless supplements.

All of this.

Peptides work, but not the way they were given to essendon, nor the type they allegedly used.

Creatine works while you use it. When you stop, the strength and endurance gained should allow for continued training. Once again it is used poorly by most gym goers.

Tribulus gives me nightmares and not much else. Prob only good during PCT. Everydat use is pointless, better off with DAA.

Frailty your not impressed with Tribulus? Definetly showed noticable signs for me that it had boosted my testonerone levels. Power and aggression definitely increased. Struggled with anger issues and too high a sex drive. Don't know how anyone "lives" using steriods.

9th or 18th hardly any difference given both positions won't make the finals. Mot a joke for the team that takes their place.
Actually there is a big difference. Essendon may not have draft picks in the first 2 rounds, but they do for the rest of the draft as well as the other drafts (they have 3 drafts or something). 1st pick in the 3rd round is much better than the 9th pick in the 3rd round. I'm not sure the intention was to reward them with the 1st pick in the other 2 drafts either.

So that is the reason, the AFL positioned them 9th and not last; makes sense. Good post.

The NRL will be the ones with the black eye

oh Really?

http://www.3aw.com.au/blogs/3aw-bre...l-will-have-the-black-eye/20130828-2sp3l.html

Sly of the Underworld has been closely analyzing the the AFL and NRL's respective drug scandals over the past six months and offered some valuable insight into the differences between each sporting code's crisis.

- Let's go back to the beginning of this - go back to the Australian crime commission announcement. Remember how Demetriou was at the front there and virtually acted as a spokesperson for all sports? That's because the ACC and the government saw the AFL as the white hats, that they had the least to worry about of the sports they were talking about.

- In the culpability range, if we make it a Richter scale of 10, you'd have the Essendon football club at 2.5 and the NRL at 9.

- Despite the argy bargy at the end, Essendon went to ASADA, volunteered information and only fell for this stupid siege mentality right at the death.

- Compare this with the NRL, who have had their head in the sand and their bottom exposed the whole time.

- When all is said and done, the NRL will be the one with the black eye.

- Investigators are saying it are poles apart the attitude of the AFL and NRL

- Essendon did not go out there to harm their players. It got out of control, they were slack, not crook

or news ltd paid them to see if he had any selfies?

All just guessing. As for the two codes approaches. i would say the NRL's let this play out and ASADA do its job properly is far more professional than the AFL's constant undermining, playing out in the media and alleged tipping off of clubs under investigation wouldn't you?

Yes, unless you are a Sydney journalist.

Research isn't impressed with it - and I tend to agree with research.

They actually look at observable measurements, and found that it did have a positive effect on testosterone recorded in blood tests - but very insignificant amounts that would have virtually zero effect on muscle building, aggression, or hormone production.

Sorry mate, you paid a lot for a placebo effect. If it were effective - it would be an illegal substance without prescription.
