This is the part that gets you about the Gordon story:
"he was also given a vial with the label ''for equine use only'' and ''not for human consumption'' to be taken orally each morning and night."

FFS
if you are given something that says for horses only why the f**k would you take it and then try for compensation later when surprise surprise the horse drugs may have been harmful to you?

Very true, and it puts alot more of the onus back on the player in this instance. It's one thing to be given a random substance from your doc that he says is legal but you have no idea what is in it, and it's quite another to be taking something specifically labelled "not for human consumption".

I agree too however the players will sue if suspended and Cronulla is f**ked. I can see a licence being revoked or stipulations put in place, the brand is rooted and the financial burden is going to be a massive strain

ASADA would still have to prove anything he said is true

if other players stories are different that could be hard

Its not a court of law. It was eye witness testimony that was going to hang Armstrong so to speak.

Its probably the most direct evidence of wrong doing/problems brought up in the entire affair outside of maybe Hirds texts/the drug essendon "accidentally" paid for..

Of course its news ltd press so take it with a grain of salt but they've issued infraction notices over joke texts. Eye witness testimony is a big deal.

If the NRL didn't kick Melbourne out for what were far worse offenses then they won't kick the Sharks out.

If people sue the Sharks they won't need to be kicked out they will fold as they won't be able to financially survive.

Head in the sand DJ

Melbourne, 1 team city - part of strategy.
Sydney, 9 team city - too many, part of strategy (even though I'm sure they'll never admit it ).

Nah, just over it Cardy.
Sick of the know it alls - "from what I've heard......... Blah blah blah"
Sick of the haters.

If ASADA has evidence, lay charges and be done with it.

Everything, and everyone else can get Farked.

Gordon alleges that he was told that if just he sued Cronulla would go bankrupt.

Maybe those were empty words but what if it's not just him, what if they get hit with multiple 7 figure lawsuits?

It might not be a question of getting kicked out, it might be a question of folding or even a forced relocation after an NRL bailout.

As a sports fan I hope both Cronulla and Essendon have nothing to answer for. I hope this all turns out to be exaggerations or lies. But if they are not there could be some extreme consequences.

they'll need more than one eyewitness if others refute him

Gordon could be in it for the money for all anyone knows

Given its been reported that a decent number of players continued using some of the products after they were stopped in-house, i doubt those players would have much of a leg to stand on. The others however would be able to pretty quickly prove that the club breached its duty of care towards the players.

This may change the whole way clubs use supplements, medicines, needles etc going forward. The mysterious "disclaimer" documents that we have been heaing about might become more and more common I would imagine. If the NRL are smart (remains to be seen), they should make such disclaimers mandatory for all clubs.

Wasn't there a photo of said "not for human use" bottles floating around at the start of all of this bruhaha?

He may be in it for the money. He might also be doing it to save his own reputation and playing career. He may feel that he has been wronged by the club. Either way, I'm not sure why you'd be so quick to paint him as a liar EL D, when you are more than happy to take other players words that they haven't done certain things that have been reported by the media.

I just think its a tragedy how reliant they are these days on supplements. Go back to the days of you play you train, no supplements just natural hard work and talent.

not imo as i've seen Ings tweet about ASADA having to prove what was in the vials Essendon were injected with

Did the vials Essendon used have "not for human use" plastered across them? Anyone with any sort of training in this field wouldn't ever consider re-using/refiling bottles with another substance (unless they were trying to hide something) so I think the ASADA would be fair happy to accept that the labelling was consistant with what was in the bottles. Combined with eye-witness testimony, albeit only a one or two indiviuals, but other information that ASADA may or may not have from other sources (payment records, wire taps, etc), it will probably be enough to move the process forward another step which would be to start standing slapping bans on players.

Personally, i think this just be may be the tipping point of the the entire investigation. I wouldn't be surprised if a number of players (who didn't continue using the substances) didn't step forward now to try and broker themselves a deal. And the same goes for the staff at the Sharks. If civil action is started by Gordon, staff may be considering stepping forward to point the finger at others so that they aren't fingered with the blame themselves.
