"All six bottles contained the same substance or same formulation, and only the labels differed".

And one was for "equine use only". So if they were all the same product, doesn't that automatically make all of them "for equine use only", even if not specifically marked as such and some body builders use it to get huuuuuge?

Gamma-Oryzanol (γ-Oryzanol): An antioxidant extracted from rice bran oil, wheat bran and some fruits and vegetables, γ-Oryzanol has been used as an alternative medicine in the treatment of high cholesterol, symptoms of menopause and ageing, mild anxiety and stomach upsets. Although it is used in sports to apparently increase testosterone and growth hormone levels, as well as improving strength during resistance exercise training, there is not enough evidence to determine its effect on hormone levels in humans. Even though animal studies suggest that γ-Oryzanol might actually reduce testosterone production, it has been marketed to, and used by, body builders and strength-training athletes in the hope of boosting strength, increasing muscle gain, reducing body fat, speeding recovery and reducing post-exercise soreness. γ-Oryzanol is not banned by WADA.

On another note, it seems like things are unravelling over at Essendon. No letter from ASADA confirming the legality of AOD9604, instead:

"The spokesman said the club had instead relied on an email sent to its former sports scientist Stephen Dank by the company that developed the drug and which ''specially references that AOD9604 is not a banned substance by any drug-testing authority''

So they effectively believed a sales pitch from the manufacturer. I wonder who is going to take the Bombers spot in the AFL finals this year?

Strange way to sell a product if the same formula, however if the same and not illegal or banned then so what?

Sadly for all of us, it's not strange at all. Every day thousands of products are sold which are identical to another product that is simply labelled/marketed differently.

I note El D's link which says its not banned by WADA, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is LEGAL for athletes to use based on the S0 catch-all provision.

Given this stuff is alleged to have been a stable part of the Manly supplement program and that program was supposedly cleared by ASADA, it would appear there is nothing to see on that one.

That's not to say there isn't something else.

Still wondering about the few that allegedly kept seeing Dr Frenkinstien at his offices.

Lay off the horse drug jokes ok

Those "few" that did go outside the club should have no scope for reduced sanctions if found guilty. I do feel sorry for the rest though if they get banned for following a club/coach's program but rules are there for a reason (yes Sam Reilly I'm looking in your direction).

Not going to happen
A) cronulla won't be booted or be allowed to go broke
B) if by chance they did the NRL would use the opportunity to bring in their strategic expansion goals and have a bye next year and bring in Perth in 2015.
No club gets booted unless its Souffs and there is a mass reduction of teams on. That said, the NRL's statement that they wont be funding Cronulla if they go under because legal costs send them into bankruptcy makes you a liar.

I've clearly stated a number of times the sharks are not going anywhere! Bears have form!
Who gives a f*ck what you have stated! What would you know?

If Cronulla fold, the NRL has a serious problem - find another team quick, or lose TV money and maybe face legal action for contract breach.

What I want to know is where did he get the stuff marked for equine use only. It wouldn't have come from a reputable supplier. Was it sourced legally? Has someone working for or on behalf of the Sharks buying drugs or supplements on a black market?

If Cronulla fold (which I seriously doubt will happen, their like cockroaches nothing seems to be able to kill them) the Bears will get told to throw a team together using whoever is left on the Sharks books and life go's on.
