Just because players haven't tested positive to anything means jack shit.

The dope they may have allegedly taken cant be detected.

Long way to go yet.

Which is exactly why nothing should've been said till they had some solid proof.

The timing of the announcement is all down to the AFL.

Someone leaked Essendon got wind of the investigation into them and decided to go public in the hope that the public would think the investigation into their club was at their request.

The ACC wanted to keep it quiet but had their hand forced because the AFL went off early.

So what's the latest update?

The government mob come out swinging, gives Aussie sport a big kick in the nuts, rants and raves about this mass evil going on in sport and when investigated no-one is actually found guilty of anything?

WTF???

That's typical Gillard and her ALP and Union cronies for ya

I love the bit about how the extreme right wing Murdoch press are in the ALP pockets!

The front page of the Courier website is about a neigbourhood mural thats upsetting the residents of a street and the front page of the Tele website is a story about how Ray Hadley is a c**k.

Bloody ALP!!

Hiw will it ever get past allegedly if they can't prove it?

They need evidence, so unless they find some sort of written log or footage clearly showing someone doping or some dumb f**k actually does come forward and confess it all comes down to witness' as far as i can see. Your word against mine, a good lawyer will go to town on that evidence.

Lack of a positive test is why sfa has happened so far besides statements to media.

not if the so called whistle blowers admit to supplying them and the commission must have some sort of proof to go to the stage of announcing it

if WADA/ASADA are administering a tests it know that it won't detect PEDS then what is the NRL and other sporting bodies paying them for? shouldn't this be "the darkest day in the history of drug testing companies" seeing as they can't do the job they are being paid for?

Peds can only be detected in 2 labs in the world and none of them are in Australia

Just wondering everyone's opinion on Manly. Should they be worried or have nothing to worry about??? They were obviously one of the clubs named by ACC, however ASADA say they have no case to answer. Therefore, they are not being investigated for doping, but are they then being investigated for match fixing?

Anyway, that's what came to my mind when I read it.

Thoughts???

Then instead of putting on a huge show like they did , all they needed to do was make a simple statement saying, ' the ACC are investigating these issues amd will report back when we have evidence'

Instead they flew in all the CEO's of major sports , got two federal ministers involved and talked as if it was the worst day in australian sports history.

There was simply no need for it.

They fluffed it.

And now they look like complete an utter amateurs.

And phone taps plus the powers of a royal commission that the ACC have as well as the thirty interviews they already have.

Seems clear that there is no positive tests that asada can act on. Also seems clear that there is evidence the acc have acquired of players buying the stuff and falling in with criminals, that is what they are interested in. If the alleged 1000 viles of blood are retested and if they show anything we have no idea yet
