They changed the bloody rules after St George won eleven in a row. They need to change the Origin rules to allow NSW to ever win a series
I remember Phil Gould saying that NSW have different rules at junior level to Queensland, I think it is the Mini League and Mode League in NSW with smaller fields and rules that you have to pass the ball once or twice from the play the ball. Gould said that these different rules at junior level may be a reason that NSW is not producing any top quality halves, while Queensland does continue to produce top quality halves. I think Gould may be on to something there.

Here's where it all went wrong-

- Woods was hitting the line like an absolute cat. The way he jogs to the line and turns his back is f**king shameful. He'll argue that he's looking for an offload, I didn't see him offload the ball once.
- Pearce was costly, especially when he rushed Munster when nothing was on for QLD and allowed him to hit a hole that didn't exist before that. Every kick hit one of their back 3 on the chest.
- Nobody was putting any pressure on the QLD danger men. Smith, Cronk, Slater and Munster had SO much time, no pressure on the kickers, no line-speed.
- Completion rate was woeful for an Origin game. You can't expect to win if you're completing at 65%. Maloney was right at the end of the game, that's reserve grade shit.
- There was no fight, too many players walking, heads down, no belief.
- Fifita was well contained and his lack of fitness always gets found out at this level.
- Not once did they target the out of position Morgan. They ran Frizell and Dugan down that side a couple of times and both times they almost went through if it was for mistakes. Holmes isn't exactly known for his defence either. They just kept passing it to the show pony Hayne who had absolutely no impact.

I agree with everything you have said and I would also throw in Tedesco. He offered nothing from the back, either didn't make metres or was pushed back, his defensive positioning was found out and the ball died with him in the backline.

There's probably a lot of reasons but it seems QLD seems to have more of an emphasis on developing skills. In NSW you learn skills as well but when you get to junior reps (U16s, U18s) everyone plays like a mini NRL team and you have ambitious coaches trying to win and climb the ranks

NSW were completely outplayed in every aspect of the game. QLD were faster, stronger and played with heart and commitment. Our blokes looked like they played for the $30k match payment each.
We may have size in the forward back, but it comes down to size of the heart not the body.
NSW need an injection of backline skill and speed with Turbo Tommy, Walker, Gutherson and a Halfback! Woods should be the 1st softcock player given his marching orders and then followed by Pearce & Daley.

I think Johns might be an outside chance at coaching next year, you can see he really has that fire in the belly. Potentially johns wuth Gus over-seeing him?
Or bring Gus Gould back - like him or not, his results at that level speak for themselves.

SOO last night showed us several things
  1. NSW never learn from their mistakes whilst Qld always find ways to not repeat any mistakes they made in previous games.
  2. Qld have fire and passion in their bellies and our lot only have VB.
  3. Daley is a complete gronk and clueless.
  4. Selection is a "mates club" and we can't make a hard decision even though our lives depend on it.
  5. Anyone who believes we should have interest in securing Hayne, Ferguson, Maloney, Tedesco has rocks in their head as they again proved to be inadequate.
  6. Pearce is absolute shit at that level but will always be talked up by the powers to be namely Channel 9 & Fox and he will continue to be selected which will see us continue to lose.
  7. WE will remain in the wilderness of along time to come unless there is a complete clean out of coaches, support staff, self interested and under performing players and admin (sound familiar)

Blues need a broom put through them, starting with the Coach. How about we pick form players.
Woods is an embarrassment and always has been, Morris needs to go, Fifita, well he was bad tonight, seems to have a bit of a gut on him.

I believe that half of the Blues troubles begin back in March , when we have Dil Rothchilde's gals naming likely SOO players , after 2-3 weeks of the new season .

Of course Daley knows how to read newspapers , so he believes that if he selects the very players mentioned , then he must be on a good thing .

And of course his loyalty factor , that must also pay dividends , if he continually picks the same players . . . . Good bye Laurie, you tried your best and that is all a man can do .

Don't think that a major clean out within the team needs to take place tbh, blokes like Pearce, Jackson and Woods should be shown the door but the team as a whole is fine.

The reason why we lost this series all falls of the feet of the coach. I have 0 idea what Daley did all last week because the team had 0 structure and barely anyone out there looked like they wanted to win. Daley has to go.

For next year I'd run a team similar to this:

1. Teddy
2. Mansour
3. Dugan
4. Hayne
5. Turbo
6. Maloney
7. ?????
8. Klemmer
9. Peats
10. Vaughan
11. Frizz
12. Cordner
13. JDB

14. Fifita
15. J Turbo
16. Graham
17. Bird

Really disappointed with our effort in Origin 3....after watching the boys train and having a chat with them on the weekend they all seemed upbeat and positive and looked sharp in their drills....although after watching Cordner go through his fitness tests and not being part of the session I was concerned in a few days he would be playing in the toughest arena and he just didnt look right. Then on game night after 10 mins I knew we hadnt turned up to play ....and at 12 nil decided to end the misery and turned on the Tennis........dont like getting beat at anytime but when 17 are playing against six that'll do me

Went to the game, gutted again. Sick of hearing about "the QLD passion", but it's true, they have it, we don't. The QLD team are all selfless, we have a contingent who are selfish.

Haven't watched a replay, don't know if i will, but from the ground, there were a few observations i made that differ from some opinions on here. Duges didn't have a great game, but he tried his guts out. He was barking at Ferguson all night trying to get him to step up, i saw him on at least 3 or 4 occasions screaming at Pearce and Maloney for the ball to be sent his way or to put a kick up for him when attacking near QLD's line (the one time they did, he scored, go figure!) and don't know if it would be evident on TV, but when QLD spread the ball out towards Haynes side of the field, Duges would yell at Teddy to go across in cover and Duges slid back and across to cover for Teddy in case QLD switched direction. He made some era's, granted, but his commitment couldn't be questioned....he'd still get a jersey in my team.

Morris and Hayne, just dreadful. On two occasions in front of me when scrums were packing just inside the pair of them, we were one man short in the scrum and only seconds left on the scrum clock, both the lazy f**kers just stood there and watched until on one occasion Graham yelled at them to pack in the scrum and on the other occasion someone came from the other side to pack in. They both just waited for the action to come to them all night and just weren't interested in going that extra yard for their mates. Selfish pricks don't deserve another game, their origin careers would be over for mine.

Fifita, again, selfish. He just didn't even bother to offer 2nd efforts. When he made a hit up or a tackle, that was it for him, just turned his back and trotted back into the line without even thinking of some 2nd phase play or covering for his mate. Daley came down to the sideline in the 2nd half and spoke with Fifita before he went out for his last stint. Might of just been my interpretation, but the body language between the two just didn't seem right and then Fifita goes out and his head space just seemed all f**ked up. He's an individual player with baggage, not someone i would want in the trenches with me. Sure, he will win you a game, but he can lose you 3, f**k him off until he grows up i say.

Pearce, joke, Woods, joke, Ferguson, joke, Klemmer, tries hard but needs to learn some new tricks, he's just too predictable and QLD have his measure. Morris and Hayne, jokes. I like Cordner as a player, but he was virtually silent and Tedesco, Maloney and Duges were doing most of the talking and trying to kick start the momentum.....we need a Captain who will actually captain, heck, i reckon Joel Thommo would be a better option. Ah well, i'm getting cranky just reliving this shit so i'll stop ranting now.

Oh, just one more thing, as bad as it is to have to sit in a crowd of QLD'ers and be embarrassed year after year, this time i had to do it with this nuffie's ugly mug in front of me which brought back memories of deep dark Dragons days just to top it all off.......felt like slapping the bitch.
