We don't lose a game, why does everyone keep saying this? There is a game in a neutral venue every 3 years. Melbourne has had games in 2006, 2009, 2012 and now 2015, 2018.

They meant not held at the G since 97.

QLD only held 2 games combined in 2011 and 2012. So QLD "lost" a game.

Well they sold out the last game in Melbourne at the smaller venue of Etihad so it makes sense to go the MCG next

They didn't really though, its a sell out in the same way as Lang Park was last week.

Buy "giving" away a shitload of tickets heavily discounted.

MARKETING, lets get this right. Tickets on sale between 50 to 100 dollars. First in best dressed. It will also mean that Queenslanders and NSWelshmen will flock to the MCG en-mass.

And have the Footy show in Melbourne the night before (tuesday night) and delay it for Thursday night. ? Is that really that hard to do.
This would be fantastic.

PLus we need the double, a Melbourne Storm verse Eels grudge-match at AAMI Park for the Friday or Saturday night.
Fans can then make a holiday out of this trip. Its only once every 3 years.

This is an orchestrated move from the NRL. They're being particularly aggressive in their response to the AFL's push into NSW.

What a statement it would be if a Rugby League game could sell out the G. And they're striking the iron while it's hot. Origin has never been bigger or more hyped. They will be praying to the footy gods that NSW win this year now.
