what do they call the defenders who guard the receivers? ... could hayne do that? .... I know its not a glamorous offensive role, but its a gig

That's sort of the slot receiver/running back role. Some blocking, mainly for the QB, some running - although this usually means pounding it up like a second rower, and some receiving - the slot being between the line (think ruck) and the wide receivers. A very technical & physical role.

Corner backs mainly mark wr's, but the 2 safeties assist as we'll.

I do t think Hayne coukd be a corner, but I have said all along I think he coukd make a safety

Who's your QB though, Ron? EJ was dropped for Orton (who has now retired again), do you place all your hopes on EJ to come good or do you try and get a QB in the draft and probably have to trade up for one?

Nope, we will be picking up a free agent qb this offseason, could even be a cutler.

I don't think he has the accuracy to be a legit qb in the league

Yeah, u hear so many stories like this guy who floats around the nfl and comes good on a late chance. That's why hayne has a slight chance of success. I think only new eng or Ravens can stop Seattle.

I don't think the Ravens could beat them. Flacco would have to have another game like he had in the 2013 Superbowl to do so.

I think defence is a bridge too far for any player new to NFL.

Some very good league players have struggled with defence in union, let alone NFL.

Their defence was solid. Although they may have gotten away with more than they could normally expect to.

Mistakes by the offence and special teams - they are toast next week.

Dallas I think look good, and can see them in champ game, however gb and Seattle I feel are by far and away a step ahead of everyone in the NFC ATM
