Lol.....from someone on

http://www.westsydneyfootball.com/f...ball-team/?page=9&tab=comments#comment-639917

I've just finished reading an article about Sam Kerr in yesterdays "Good Weekend" magazine from the Sydney Morning Herald. Obviously penned by a Victorian or AFL follower. Well worth the read if anyone can access it.

The last paragraph in the article asks.........."Now there's an AFL Woman's league, could she be tempted away from soccer back to her first love?"

Her answer........"Not a chance". ******* lol.

Why would she leave a career that has made her world famous, earning decent coin, playing internationally and travelling the world, to play in some 6 week competition in a sport no one cares about in some backwater states of a small country? Was that a serious question?

The delusion amongst the AFL about how "great" their sport is continues.

Just watching that draw, you realise how big football is in the world, and what an incredible achievement it was to make it to the final 32 nations in the world's biggest tournament after such a gruelling qualifying period.
Really, no other sport compares.

The media are saying we have a good draw. Not sure why. The other 3 teams are all in the top 15 in the world. I guess what they are saying is that it could be worse ?

Anyway we need to score some goals over there. Is there a striker or two that we can unearth in the next few months ?

Whatever their current ranking, Peru and Denmark aren’t big footballing nations, meaning there’s a chance (though slim) that we could finish second in the group.

Alas it’s not our strength.

Well due to some qualifying upsets there’s no real group of death. But groups a, b & g look like walkovers

Mariners are half decent this season, Okon has done a very good job with a bunch of average players and 2 or 3 decent players.

De Silva has been great

Yeh Pou Pou, anything can happen with a derby. I just don't know where our goals are going to come from. I believe Riera might be out, so I expect Santalab will start. He scored the winning goal last season in this fixture so I suppose anything is possible.

And yeh Twiz, the Sea Bogans are actually playing some attractive football this season.
