They're not men Baz, even though they appear to be.
They are kids in a mans body.
I said......life bans. Nothing short of that.
You are right though. Flares aren't a big deal. But the flares do alienate some fans.
What they do alienate even more though, is the media, to protect local interest's. To protect the local games. Not the Mediterranean_Descendant game. Never been flares at the NRL, eh Baz?

Ok, so, you take my point about the cricket and rugby, yet that is ok? 20 times more ejections and arrests for anti-social behavior?
Why do Australians still think this is ok, but when the Mediterranean_Decendants let off a few sparklers and bungers, the world is imploding? Haha.
25000 people at the game in Melbourne on Saturday night.
At half time, anyone from the RBB could go to the toilet, or the bar, or outside for a smoke. Anyone from the Melbourne active could do the same.
Everyone from both the Wanderers and Victory were mingling together at these three places and along all the concourses.
Yet there was no trouble. No fights. No arrests. No ejections.

81 at the rugby though, and 170 at the cricket?
4 at the football.
Is this country Anti-Mediterranean_Descendant much?

There's no doubt that the media see football fans, and in particular WSW fans as an easy target, and one that gets them ratings/circulation. And yeh, I'm sure that flares have been set off at NRL games, and possibly by disgruntled fans of Dennis Katunarich at the bowls. I don't think the country is anti-Mediterranean_Descendant any more than it is anti-dickhead. Maybe it's an issue of perception, but when the WSW blokes apologise there's seemingly always an asterisk (pretty much like the Eels board I guess).

I'd follow soccer (well the A-League bit of it) if the Wanderers fans/RBB weren't such a bunch of knobs... it's an embarassment to Western Sydney.

An embarrassment? Are you f**king serious? I love to hate them in a rivalry sense but they are a phenomenal success and the A League is all the better for their existence. When the time comes and you sit in our new stadium you can thank the Wanderers for bringing us to the 21st century.

It's not just flares though. It's things like hammers, bags of screws or coins to throw at opposition fans or keepers, and other things that i cannot post here.

Read the post you quoted Avenger - I said the WSW fans are a bunch of knobs and it's (that's) an embarassment to Western Sydney. I've had nothing but praise for the club's on field achievements.

Yeah but those fans that you mock add to the atmosphere of what football is about. Not condoning weapons but flares is something that is tolerated all over the world yet in conservative Australia it's an outrage and causes headlines.

4 is enough for front page headlines because a few idiot f**kwits light some flares, yet..............there were over 2000 Wanderers fans in Melbourne, and yet no reports of drunkenness or assaults or violence. Just a few flares at the game.
Bit more than that mate, and you know it. Wanderers supporters are admiting on their own forum that there detonators etc, in addition to the flares.

Hopefully when the majority begin calling for this ridiculous "active" behaviour to stop, you'll fall in with the numbers instead of continually defending (or deflecting on behalf of) the selfish pricks in your midst.

You can have great atmosphere without any weapons, pyro, threatening behaviour. The question is, why don't we?

And more specifically, why don't the Wanderers? And why haven't the Wanderers club (and their fans) done more about this issue, before (finally) being faced with appropriately stiff penalties from the FFA?

I look forward to reading the RBB's prefered course of action from here - which will probably be not attending games in protest again . So much for their contribution to "atmosphere".

lol.

Mate. Sydney FC bring 1500/2500 to Pirtek.
Victory bring 150/200 at most.
The rest bring between 20-100 max.

Otherwise, there's no opposition supporters to throw things at, or, to warrant the fear that requires 100 cops. It's laughable. And you know it.
For the past 3 seasons, all the Wanderers have seen the riot squad do is play on their f**king phones all game.
I see it all the time.

So they are to throw at opposition players then? I'm told this example has been minimal but it has happened.

Apart from the derby the RBB has been fairly well behaved at Pirtek, but after their little stunt at the end of last season, the cops need to be there in numbers if it was to kick off again. They can not afford not to.

Just there presence is a deterrence and it is working.

Oh wow, called me out... on what exactly.

I've said the WSW fans are an embarassment to Western Sydney. If we get a new stadium, it's thrugh government funding. The Wanderer's existence, on field sucess, and popularity plays a big part in making the case for thegovernment funding... but that doesn't excuse the fans/RBB for being the worst behaved in the A-League by a mile, and an embarassment to Western Sydney.

Keep "calling me" out though, watching you fools run around in circles defending a bunch of thuggy dickheads is fun .

And don't take your hat off - the CCTV cameras might identify your behaviour in the crowd!

There has been plenty of people injured by flares at different events. If it's tolerated overseas then I'm glad I live in Australia. If the media go on about it more when it is done by wanderers fans then other fans or sports then that's a different story. The only way I can think of stopping the media going on about it though would be to stop setting them off.

Also didn't they have to delay the game for the smoke to clear? If wanting to go to a sporting event and watching it without interruption is being conservative then I'm all for it. Not pointing the finger at the wanders though for all I know it was victory fans.
