Good crowd, and impressive performance by the US (in defence and attack). And Matildas going ok enough, while trying out some new players and combos.

Agreed.
The score is irrelevant in a friendly.

The Matilda's though are Australia's most popular female sporting team by a f**king country mile.
The netball team come a close 2nd.

Sorry Suity but I had to have a chuckle at this. I’m not sure you can have a close 2nd if the gap is a f**king country mile 😁.

I also think Aussie cricket is getting up there.

I'm more concerned about the Socceroos at the moment - our World Cup qualifying campaign has suffered some major setbacks.

.....and just a shot that hit the post.
Yeah that was in the last minute off a FK. If it went in syria would have gone through on away goals.

I went with a dozen of mates to homebush that night. I don't think anyone comprehend how close we actually were to getting knocked out until the game was finished.

It was more shock then anything that the result was so close the other way

Better result on the scoreboard, but not sure the Matildas competed any better than Saturday. Short passing is still a bit loose, and a team like the US will pounce on that all across the park. Midfield don't seem to be picking up the runners on their way through, which makes for easy pickings by quality teams willing to take us on in the middle.

That said, only a friendly and still experimenting to find the best combos, while giving inexperienced squad members a taste against the world's best. And there were some nice touches, with the defence somehow preventing more than the early goal.

Went to my first wanderers game at comm bank last night as a mate had a spare ticket.

Few observations

The RBB fans behind the goals they are mad and relentless they all have surely lost there voice today i reckon.

They chanted all game non stop.

Quite remarkable they still have enthusiasm as the Wanderers were uninspiring with their performance.

They only got 8k to the game and the corporate side looked half empty.

Speaking to my wanderers mate he reckons there crowds have been average since the new stadium when not restricted by covid.

And the fact that the team isnt playing well is contributing but even so its been a big drop off since they entered the comp with a bang and were packing out the old stadium weekly.
