I think you've got it backwards buddy. The Olympics aren't segregated by race, which is why the men's 100m final looks like this:

This is a feature of rich countries, that their women's team is more competitive than their men's team. Basically a marker of privilege.

I mean sure that's probably true. In poorer nations and more traditional less women would play sport.
But at the same time why can't we still enjoy it? If we look at everything in cynical way life wouldn't be worth living.

Tbh, I'm not sure because I haven't seen any empty seats in any of the sold out games.
There is the media contingent on the western side, which would be huge, but not 7000 worth. Maybe they aren't also counting their corporate friends on freebies, which might account for the rest and would be a very FIFA thing to do.
The other thing that has annoyed me about the figures I post is that every game has had the exact same attendance figure. This would be the official FIFA capacity, yet I've no doubt that the stadium is at or very near capacity each time. So therefore clearly over 80 - 82 000 each time.
It's quite annoying but that's FIFA.
The same has happened at Brisbane Stadium and Eden Park.
