Exactly...

As Far as Smith constantly arguing calls to the ref, he's the captain and that's his job. He's pretty excessive with it, but he's supposed to ask questions of the ref if he thinks a refs call isn't fair to his team.

as a captain he can ask the ref for a ruling or reasons why, but its not his job to continually argue with the ref just because he is captain

he seems to have very little respect for the refs or the rules, like when he asks players to stay down so they can milk a penalty

f**k Cameron Smith. He's a dirty player, a scumbag, and someone who I'm embarrassed to call the Kangaroos captain.

I didn't watch the 60 minutes episode and never will. I have had this view from the second it happened and have said it every time it has been bought up. I don't read the papers but I do listen to BSB and Talkin Sport and heard people defending him.

I was watching the game live, I watched the whole situation unfold I heard what Smith said and did. It was disgraceful then and it is just a disgraceful now and I don't need the media to fuel my thoughts cause my thoughts are based on the evidence I personally witnessed!

It is indefensible!

Maybe if you weren't watching and you are only commenting on the media stories or what someone else said then you can have your uninformed opinion but if you were watching it and you too could see that on the field at that time that this kid will probably never walk again then I think your opinion of Smith could not be a good one.

See again the typical media, the incident happened last year, a lot of us knew what Cam Smith said then and even the commentators on the night said something similar to what Smith said.

So why 18 months later they're talking about this? And point out Cam Smith? Why not point out the commentators on the night?

Then suddenly now we've got people come out and say, oh he's a grub for saying that, cause they saw the program.

I feel sorry for Alex, it was unfortunate what happened to him, and if they needed to do a story on him it should've just been about him.

As for Cam Smith, I don't think many people would defend his comments.

Still, this whole thing doesn't change my opinion, cause I knew what he said then.

Grub? yes. cheat? yes. I mean he did his best to slow us down at Parra this year, when he purposely went up to the referee when we were trying to get a quick tap.

See if he does the same tactics against NSW tomorrow night.

I did say he was excessive...

I agree, said it numerous times in this thread, Smith's a grub, and you're right, has no respect for the refs and the rules..

My point is that the vilifying he copped from the media in the McKinnon story was unfair. I would have prefer he get raked over the coals for all the stuff he has done.

Agree 100%

I watched the game live and couldn't believe the way he carried on. Especially after Alex was carried off 10mins later. The cornfeds up here are whinging like stuck pigs lol.

Sorry but he deserved to be vilified, it should have happened at the time but people are always too busy sucking anyone who plays for the Storms dicks.

Alex has come out and said what is correct and finally because the victim of the incident had the balls to speak out against an untouchable people are giving it the time of day.

It may be late but it is deserved!

Are you kidding? He (McKinnon) broke his neck on the field, I knew it sitting at home, it was f**king obvious! How could it not be obvious to Smith?

My wife walked in the room I was watching it on and I told her right there and then that his career is over and I'd be surprised if he ever walked again.

Smith showed zero sensitivity to the situation at hand and was squabbling over a f**king penalty and there was f**k all time left in the half as well.

I admit I didn't see it live. I did not see the aftermath and do not know how it transpired.

IF it was as obvious as you say that he broke his neck and that this injury was telegraphed to all players including Smith, then I agree with you.

As I tend to grant benefit of the doubt to most in life, I assumed that Smith knew nothing of the scope of injury at the time.

If we all know Smithy, he'll come out of all of this smelling like roses.

And so he should, this beat up is the biggest crock I've ever heard.

Coming from a Parra and Nsw fan who has plenty of reasons to dislike the guy.

If it was paul gallen did what smith did the media would want him sacked as nsw captain i reckon. Smithy has too many mates in the media and that will defend him to the hilt.

Gallen would have been thrown out to dry by now and i hate gallen as well but it shows who the favourites when it comes to the media

Him and his equally grubby best bud Slater are the biggest protected species in the game. Grappling, chicken wings, tripping, kicking ripping people's heads off they have done it and gotten away with it.

No suprises the media are going in to bat for Captain Cam, this is the same bloke who got off scott free in the cap rorting saga even though he managed himself. The game will be all the better when these two and their whinging POS coach are gone from the game.

This.

The game today is a disgrace bc of the storm. They introduced the wrestling, the chicken wing the grapple...... Shitttt club filled with a bunch of grubs.

As the young forward lay motionless on the ground with a serious injury, opposition players celebrated by high fiving each other and one even ran in to tell him to get up.
The tackler on this occasion was Alex McKinnon and the injured player was Melbourne's Jordan McLean, who had to be assisted from the field with a broken jaw caused by the sickening head clashThere was no malice or intent in the incident but Knights team-mates Neville Costigan, Chris Houston and Beau Scott all congratulated McKinnon as McLean lay unconscious, while Joey Leilua raced in from his position at left centre and leaned over the Storm prop to scream abuse at him.
Video footage of the incident in the 2013 finals series was sent to this columnist in the wake of Sunday night's 60 Minutes program in which McKinnon and his family were highly critical of the way the Melbourne captain Cameron Smith acted after the tackle by McLean in last season's round three match that has left McKinnon in a wheel chair.

So those critical of Cameron Smith must be more critical of these players especially Leilua. Walter makes some very poignant points.

Yeah good one. It looked like a big hit which is always congratulated straight away. They weren't to know he was hurt, tell me, how is McLean th we days? Still walking? Still playing the game?

You knew when McKinnon's neck went the wrong way and then the footage of him struggling to breath after the incident that he'd done some serious damage and 10 minutes after to be arguing over something as trivial as a f**king penalty is poor form.

Walter is a wanker and a Smith apologist like so many others! The c**k sucking of Smith is amazing by commentators and media.

It is very simple, Smith f**ked up, is it so hard to admit? Is he a great player? f**k yes, will be an immortal! Does he really not care about what happened to Alex? Of course he does and I'm sure he does help raise money for Alex and wants to see him have some sort of quality of life.

Did he f**k up on the field that night? Of course he did, it is indefensible and that is the f**king problem, it appears that no one wants to say he made a mistake because he is a protected species in RL.

His actions on the field were not appropriate, is he sorry? I bet he is, so let's just admit he was an asshole that night and move the f**k on! Why does it need to be defended?
