I like that his first grade swansong was a disapointing performance in a loss to us at Shark Park.

I have insight through some of his family friends that he isn't much of a person, and nothing I've seen has made me think it may be wrong.

But to his credit he managed to squeeze and awful lot of juice from the lemon that was his talent.

Thought I’d find a Chad Townsend beer to celebrate his retirement but can’t find that shit anywhere funnily enough. He actually wrote a humble post to announce his retirement which was very un-Chad like. In all seriousness he was the only local junior in our only premiership so he’s achieved something that no-one else has done.

Dunno what it is about Chad. I should love him as a Premiership winner but there’s just something about his arrogance. His Chad Townsville clothing range sealed the deal for me. Cringeworthy. Even the games’ true legends haven’t done that shit to the best of my knowledge.

I first met Chad when he was 14, while I was working as the orange shirt trainer and doing some skills etc for Matt’s and ball.

He was the final kid picked for Matt’s that year as he was a year young. But the day the decision was made he dominated playing 9 and 13 against a massive wests side.

So thanks to my final vote to make it 3-2 he became a shark and the rest is history. You can thank me later haha.

What a lot of people don’t know is the decision to resign Jeff Robson sealed his fate as a halfback. All signs were for him to become the hooker of the team the next season, but Robson ended up there. Chad would have been an excellent dummy half in that era

Foran announced his retirement last week without any fanfare and press conference yet Chad wouldn’t lace up his boots. When he finished his speil he asked “did anyone have any questions”. I almost chewed on my own vomit then and there. Get over yourself man.

I do get though how it compounds the years of cringe. But fair play to him he did live the dream we all had.

Are they really heads you see the back off or cardboard cut outs and filmed in his garage?
Is it just the reserve grade as surely Teddy and co would not be part of that?
When he told robbo he wanted to tell the guys hes hanging them up, surely robbing said dont worry, they wont know who you are.
