We were never in recession or economic crisis, its just that the rich families of the world told the reserve bank of america that they wanted their money back that the reserve bank of america loaned out to all us modern day slaves. As a result, the reserve bank started s**tting themselves saying they couldn't pay it back because people couldn't repay their loans. On top of that these families own the media who reported we were in recession when everything was fine and dandy, so that they could get their money back. From that everyone of us slaves started to panic thinking, we have no money, we better hold onto what we've got! So we stopped spending money and stimulating the economy, which saw the market start to crash and interest rates drop, so people could afford to just live. From that people started to lose their jobs and it was then we hit a real recession. The market now is already showing signs of recovery as people have started to spend again from the media telling us things will improve. We are merely believing what we have been told from the media that we were in recession. If they just shut their mouths or we didn't listen to them, the world wouldn't be in the predicament that it's faced/is facing.

People will eventually get their jobs back, the market will recover big time, but its all about supply and demand in this world.

So true.
In regards to Real Madrid they were able to acquire something very little in supply; a very high quality, freakish footballer in Christiano Ronaldo; hence the high asking price from Manchester United. They have that sort of money because the owners of these glamour clubs if you wish to call them that, are essentially the people who own and control the world, the shareholders. They get what they want when they want.

Fascinating that even since the dawn of time, the world still operates in the exact same way, for all the advancements we've made isn't it? :D

Its crazy good money, just puts in perspective how minor league Rugby League is hey.

My poor Liverpool seems to be on the slide with major losses financially.

:lol::lol:

Honestly, as long as you are good enough at your job to keep it, everything just gets cheaper. The recession kicks arse.

Barca fan here too and it scares the crap outta me, But we still have Messi! :D

At least Barca have defensive players.

Interesting to note that Madrid ave gone all out to buy Mids, AMs and Strikers, yet they still have a poor defense imo.

AUD $162Million hey.
Makes you sick when you think that the naming rights for the whole NRL competition is merely just over half that figure. Good luck to him though, he is the difference between Man Utd winning the premiership and finishing second behind Liverpool next year. ;-)

It seems the Premier League is a place players go until they get a gig in a better competition.

If we weren't so anglo-centric, perhaps we would appreciate these more entertaining comps too?

As was said, he has been wanting to go there since day 1. Man U were merely a stepping stone to where he wanted to get.

Hope I'm not smashing any illusions with this statement.

Yeah EPL teams have dominated the Champions League for the last 3/4 years as a fluke...
I think the quality of football is just as high in England, although I'd prefer watching a Spanish team run around. They generally play a more attractive brand of football than English sides (Arsenal/West Ham/Everton etc are exceptions).
I think the main reason you hear a lot of players like Cesc and Ronaldo always whining that they want to play for Barca/Madrid is because they grew up following those teams.
Also as an elite player in the best team in the world, after achieving everything you want to move on to new challenges and moving to another of the Big 4 would be a step sideways not forwards. It's no slight on the English game, but does say that they don't have any player loyalty really as players don't play solely for the club but for personal ambitions.
