OT: Current Affairs and Politics

Biden gave out more food coupons to the poor, I think that was a pretty good policy.

Some argue he’s better for the environment than trump. Trump spoke about it to Rogan, lip service and blamed China. Trump wants to release large reserves of energy. He wants to make America less dependent on foreigners.

Immigration, proportionally I’ll think we will find a lot more US citizens in gaol than illegal immigrants.

The US has traditionally been fairly generous about immigration.

Trump is more volatile than Harris.

Under Biden, the health system is chaotic, Trump won’t fix it.

I don't know nothing about politics. I find the election entertaining. I mean it's better then most shitnon TV.
Things I like about Americans:

Many shared values.
Their friendliness.
They have a bill of rights.
They can elect their leader.
They make useful products.
The ones I know don’t like their gun laws.
They are much more philanthropic than us.
They have sacrificed a lot for other countries.
A lot of their science and tech.
Their scholars are pretty good.
Etc.
They generally like Australians.

It’s important to consider their good points not just their bad points.

I know theres a lot of oceangate junkies out there amongst you, enthralled and fascinated by the tragic events.

I think this is one of the more interesting videos on the impugned RTM, the equipment designed to track the breakage of the carbon fibre hull.

Just bear in mind we don’t have Stockton’s side of the story.

She is a moron
Worst two Presidential candidates ever.
It's funny watching you lot argue over them.
I think in the real deal space, both candidates are not dumb. I get that sides are taken and therefore insults are thrown, then mud sticks. However both candidates could not have achieved what they have in life without having significant intelligence.

Personally I don’t like the politics of one. I also don’t particularly like the personality of that same person.

Worst candidates ? It’s complicated over there, because it’s VERY expensive to be POTUS candidate.

I reckon the standard of politics is the worst its ever been across the world.

Is that product of where the world is going.

More cancel culture & Political correctness gone mad.

You look here in Australia most of it now is just opposite leaders of each party looking to throw shit at one another and look all high & mighty.

Not many want to discuss anything in a rational way. And what do they all really stand for they all seem to be wanting to do there time so they can collect there pension once they have done there time.

I have been eligible to vote since 2012 and the PMs in that time have been Gillard, Rudd, Abbott, Turnbull, Scomo, Albo.

Between the 6 of them Albo is probably one of the better ones we have had which is saying how bad the standard has been.

Gillard & Rudd were abysmal,

Abbott was a strange cat but out of this bunch probably the best one.

Turnbull was an A-grade rich wanker from the eastern suburbs who never had any touch with the common man in his whole tenure. He was in it for the gravitas and just rode the gravy train until it squashed him.

Scomo was a hard read - his lasting legacy will be being the PM during covid & pissing off to Hawaii during the bushfire saga & then coming back and making a fool of himself shaking people's hands who just lost there homes.

Albo - Seems like this Qantas saga will what we remember him most for and his relationship with that weasel Alan Joyce.

I think what you witnessed there was more about the back stabbing by both parties upon their own leaders. The constant sabotaging from within was specifically designed to cause disfunction. Left and right factions within both liberal and labor. A total shit storm in Australian politics, fuelled by the Australian media when they were at their influential peak.

That’s a fair take on the state of play.

Gillard gave us the NDIS which, while not perfect, has been really good for struggling people and provided many genuine work opportunities.

There was a big right wing media scare that it would send the country broke lol

A pretty full take down of Trump and those who support him - appearing in Murdoch-owned and normally conservative/Trump supporting News Ltd.

Ouch!

It sounds like Pamela would benefit from a lot more trump rallies

Murdoch press so no mention of policy.

If politicians went on the hate against one ethnic group here, it wouldn’t be very good.

There’s a big investigation going on about anti-semitism in universities.
