ARU apologised and paid a multi millionaire settlement...He wanted 14 million.
Most likely settled for around 8 million.

God prevailed in this one. ARU went into damage control. They knew they f**ked up and where cooked.

OK ... his settlement prior to it going to court concluded that RA didnt feel they had a good enough case to go through with it and settled and issued an apology

Gronks buddies lost the case LOL AND HAD THEIR ASSES REEMED

That's literally how mediation works...everyone issues a shallow apology, a settlement figure, and it all goes away without eight years in the federal court.
Izzy didnt apologise .... he made a statement that he was vindicated

Anyone who seriously thinks the ARU didnt see the writing on the wall and decided to cut their losses has their blinkers on

Of course legal rulings are necessarily "correct" rulings, but they are what they are

I doubt it was any where near that but the amount was never revealed other than media guessing

It was a win for GOD.
He wanted 14. Unless was close to that figure he goes to court and wins. 8 is being liberal. Closer to 10....

Alan Jones laughed his head off when he broke the story. Almost as much when the Labor lost the unlooseable election and he rattled off all the seats they lost....

"Similarly, Mr Folau did not intend to hurt or harm the game of rugby and acknowledges and apologises for any hurt or harm caused."

Or they decided Falonk was seriously not going to drop it and decided they'd rather pay a settlement rather than engage barristers for a multi-year federal court proceeding, regardless of the outcome?

Shitty general protections claims involving plebs like you and me can run into the millions if the applicant is stupid enough to go to federal court after the FWC...why does taking that into account make someone "blinkered"? The ARU are broke as balls, lengthy, public and expensive proceedings are the last thing they need. We won't know why they settled, but that doesn't mean we can't take into account all the options.

Of course legal rulings are necessarily "correct" rulings, but they are what they are

Who made a ruling?

I'm pretty over Izzy's entire existence tbh, but to suggest taking into account more than one option is blinkered is a bit arse-about.

Abbott has nothing to do with why i think it should be a private sector thing .... the govt was always gonna f**k it up and waste a f**kload no matter who was in charge

The issue is heaps of old asbestos pipes. Houses in mountains for example that require trenches and perhaps a 10k cost to get from street to an individual house.
Properties on acreage where fibres may go for kms to service just a few homes.

Labor promises NBN to the house and a cost that would of ended up 5 x
And reality is wireless will take over shortly anyhows with 5g rolling out making it all redundant.
I have been operating on 4g for 3yrs now. Never an issue. Watch Netflix no problems.
Units where middle floors have no acess and require external works for cabling was another issue.

Possibly. I didn't say that was impossible so I'm not sure why you seem to think I did.

But does that mean they were on the wrong side of the law? No. Does it mean that settling prior to hearing is an admission of any sort of guilt? No.

Does it mean that other options are excluded? Also no.

Anyone who thinks that's the sole reason they settled has their blinkers on...

Anyway f**k Falonk. Wigan>>>Preacher Izzy

I see.

I would disagree. But mostly I think the private sector would have taken a shit ton longer to even get where we are now, if at all.

exactly ... the govt can't promise a cost effective way to get it to everyone

hell, even my old house in the middle of suburbia had issues with getting a coax cable in ... and NBN Co f**ked up endlessly
