True.

But he has helped fuel the situation and excacerbate divisions by turning everything into a contest. Some issues are above politics and right now he should be trying to calm things rather than blame the states, blame the media and blame everyone else.

Easier said than done though. What made him so attractive to those that voted him in and continue to support him is also what works against him in instances like this where collaboration and collegiality are the order of the day.

I believe his opponents are the ones who have continually tried to overturn the result of the 2016 election. For Trump that was the contest. It should've ended there. Since then he has only tried to advance the interests of the US and its citizens, and has been almost constantly blocked by domestic opponents.

Too many Americans hate each other. The only way to please all of them is with hollow lip service.

Thats democracy. If he wanted to have unfettered powers as leader to do whatever he wants and not consult anyone then he should have campaigned for Putin's job.

For someone that wrote about the 'art of the deal', he's actually a really shit house one-dimensional negotiator.
