And you arent painting it a way you want to? ... who asks a question there? Barnaby is doing all the talking. The journos are just there to film it.

what am i even making up? Yes its an entirely organised thing ... im just saying what ive seen for years. That politicians do organised announcements and the media just tag along to broadcast it. Its nothing unusual .... the only thing out of the ordinary i see here is the ABC going live with it. Miscommunication? A setup?

Why didnt you post the video of Albo's press conference where a random rocked up and wanted to ask an unplanned question? .... Albo practically pooed his pants - said he is up for it (a question from a random) - then when the guy proceeded to ask albo told him he cant cos its only for journos ..... what does that say? That he was scared he would have to answer a real question? That he maybe organised everything else that was going to be asked? That he knows the journos there werent going to give him a hard time? ....... they all do it. Its the game ... and the media play along cos they want to be included.
The “ABC going live with it” confuses me cos it was at the end of the presser. Are you saying that it’s normal and expected that they cease their transmission at a particular time ? I did not know that. I also did not know that press confrences are re-run. I just thought that they were one take gigs. Thanks for the heads up.

Do politicians usually allow punters standing by the media huddle to ask questions ? I did not know that. I should pay more attention.

The ABC "setting up" Barnaby, by Barnaby choosing to ask if journos want a re-run of the announcements while the live broadcast camera are still rolling because his photo op hasn't ended yet?

Seems like a case of...

But you said they "set him up"? Surely that's a bit of over-reach, informed by your vax status/voting history/intentions?
Why is it an overreach? I think its a fair possibility .... i asked "Miscommunication? A setup?" .... you all seem to think the murdoch press are capable of shenanigans. But no one else? Only the ones who do shenanigans the way you dont like?

I think its incredibly clear that bit wasnt meant to go live? Did they know it was being broadcast live? ..... do you think none of this is planned? All parties. They all plan these things. The media play the game cos they want to be included. Were the ABC the only ones who broadcasted it live? .... i suspect it wasnt intended as a live broadcast. He wasnt trying to be sneaky about it. Everyone else must have been onboard. But not the ABC who were live.

Housing crisis for fist home buyers is real.

LNP have a scheme where they underwrite the "risk" of a first home buyer so that they don't have to pay LMI (Mortgage Insurance) which is very uppy ATM at like $8-12,000. Under some circumstances (sole parents etc) you can buy with on/y 2.5% deposit. ✅

Labor have announced a scheme where they will take equity in the home and "be the parent" by going 5%, 10% or even 20% share in the property.✅

Whilst both schemes don't arrest surging real estate prices (and may even increase them), it's better than doing nothing.

Hot take by SkyNews is that that the labor policy is communism by stealth. I think we can all agree to ignore that.

Talked to dad.

He said if Albo gets in god help us we'll all be f**ked.

Just putting the politics aside, the economy might struggle anyway with these higher fixed costs of petrol and it looks like rising interest rates no matter who gets elected.

If you have to pay the shopping for the family, I can assure you, prices are getting way out of hand.

The kids can share a mouldy carrot for play lunch or something. I will tell the school we are church of the orange herbivores and triffid yam.

And for me I have to work the longer hours and pass on some of these costs. Customers love that!

And I remember the last recession, and people lost fortunes. They got smashed in property, they got done at the share market.

Lots of shops closed, like every fourth shop went under and for lease signs everywhere.
Things rot as maintenance is wound down.

It’s another world.

And strikes. Public servants they ark up because in real terms they lose. So you have to check to see if your public service is at work on any given day. Teachers are out next week as it is.

But don’t panic Hindy, all part of life experience.

My brother in law says we are all f**ked if scomo gets another term, lol.

The abc has told me I’m to the left of Marx, which I don’t think I am, but if so, I suppose I should be at the front of the booths discouraging participation in the corrupt western democratic process and calling for the overthrow of capitalism.

Then I guess the poll folk will meet my challenge to their understanding of the world with gratuitous violence. Labor and Liberals United.

Probably need better skills than mine to answer that one, but a good question.

But if you’re living in it, you are still getting the benefit of if and if you plan to stay in it for ages, you could tough it out.

Just think the longer term.

A lot of People who went hard with the investment housing got caught last time. 20% interest rates, wipe out.

It wasn’t unusual to hear of prices falling by 30% in the shorter term- a couple of years even. But living in the house is a bit different,

When the politicians talk about “ soft” or “ hard” landing there’s a recession statement.

This is a bit different from the last recession due to the external factors.

But keep an eye on it. So says my dodgy overpriced accountant and a lawyer I know.

They are both expecting trouble of some kind.

Yes, and I think that’s great for you, well done.

But now we have this war and the idiots posturing.

Stupid unnecessary war driving up the cost of basic fixed cost item like petrol, driving just about everything else up. Less cash for other things like consumption and investment.

New strains of co vid. This stupid business with China who are a major importer of ours and very fickle etc.

They hate Taiwan for sure, they always have.

Wars seem to drive the US dollar down because they spend a bucketload of cash on them.

So it seem a bit unsettled to me.

But I’m not in finance etc.

And as I say to our west, Putin is not forever. Everyone chill and talk. Plenty of time to die later on.

Value of something is pointless unless selling. And the if bought somewhere else either probably increased.

We don't hear much about the war. Who knows what's going on over there or when it will end.

But Putin knew what he was doing was going to have consequences against him. He isn't a fool so the question must be asked why he still went in knowing this?
