Ukraine are playing the smart war with western intelligence and military power assistance. And so they f**king should.
Moscow is finally finding out that they are not the military superpower they thought they were. In fact, they are a f**king shambles with enforced conscripts fleeing, and getting pushed back easily in previously gained Ukraine territory. They can't even provide their conscripts with decent weapons or supplies. They've even asked the conscripts to provide their own winter clothing ffs.
This not such a good scenario.
It puts Putin into a situation he never thought he would be in. He thought he would win this war (it's not a military operation) in 3 days. It's now been 7 months.
Will he resort to tactical (lol) nukes? I f**king hope not.

Putin is the one who wants us to think in terms of nuclear mayhem. Russia is the only state that’s threatened it and the Kremlin keeps vocalizing this idea. Putin apologists cling to this looming threat to justify passivity / surrender.

I mean you have to wonder if he did take them in 3 days how the world reacts towards Russia. I mean Putin would of known they would of been hated forever and blackbanned.

Russia ditectly attacking civilian buildings and infrastructure is an act of terrorism.
Russia will never not be terrorists and barbarians.

That is more the scenario. Imo.
The Ukraine is regaining a massive amount of territory atm, thanks to the assistance from The West.
Ukraine becoming a part of NATO wasn't ever a threat to Russia. The west just doesn't invade countries for the sake of gaining strategic advantage. Not in this day and age anyway. The west prefers democracy, peace and stability.
Putin is a nutcase. The sooner he leaves this world, the better.
Problem is that he will probably be replaced by another nutcase.
I have the utmost respect for Zelensky and what he has tried to do for Ukraine.
Unfortunately, he will probably end up being another Mickael Gorbachev. A peacemaker in his time but ultimately overthrown by another nutcase.

I don't understand anything about it. I assumed they hung around for the oil? I don't know. The whole thing is ridiculous when think about it. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I guess the point I'm making there is that much has been made of Putin's idea that he'd take Ukraine in a matter of days, but what is ignored there is that even if he did, there'd still be a protracted war, because even with the might of the US military, occupation of a large country is a damned hard thing to do, and will take a huge amount of time, will and resources to complete.

True. Since world war 2 America is
1/5 in wars won. They have the fire-power but opponents have had more will power and willing to go the distance.
They did win the gulf war but Korean,Vietnam,Iraq and Afghanistan where of a loss or at best ended in a truce.
Wars are very different these days. The public know about returning soldiers PTSD, enemies innocent children becoming innocent victims the money involved etc.
You can just go and drop bombs anymore and walk away.
