"Just another political hack job"
I have never said he doesn’t also attack his accusers, of course he does. I simply claimed he defends himself when he is attacked, which he does for the first 20 seconds of that clip. You said he doesn’t here:
No he doesn't, he attacks his accusers. That's a significant difference.

He clearly does.

Therefore the fact he hasn’t come out and called this “fake news” speaks volumes.

how the f**k a country could not only vote for, but support a redneck president is totally beyond me

he just seems so immature and unintelligent which speaks volumes for those who support him

No he doesn't just attack his accusers. He attacks anyone who is in his way. His whole fake news slogan is aimed at shutting down reporting of what he perceives as negative press. Ipso facto, fake news is anything that is not positive about him. So he does not just attack his accusers, he attacks anyone and everything that is even remotely not to his liking.

PS Morrison has attempted to add this to his playbook with the use of the term "Canberra Bubble". It's a quick way of shutting down dialogue.

This is not a new technique of course.

In his speeches of late 1919, Hitler was pioneering a style of propaganda that has defined much of the century since (and which the philosopher Jason Stanley has described in sophisticated fashion). It begins with a total devotion to persuasive technique, passes through the creation of a pure myth, and ends with the speaker leading his country on a chase for fake phantoms that ends over real graves. In “Mein Kampf,” Hitler wrote that propaganda “must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.”

In his first speech to the DAP as one of its members, at a beer hall in Munich on Oct. 16, he seems to have already grasped this technique. In “strong words,” as a listener recalled, he demanded decisive action against the Jewish “enemy of the people.” He reserved particular fury for newspapers, demanding that they be replaced by propaganda organs that spoke to German emotions. Not long afterward, the army helped Hitler and his party (by then known as the NSDAP, short for the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or the “Nazis”) acquire a newspaper to spread their message.

He's not defending himself, he is selling himself. Presenting 'alternate facts'. It's all part of his attack strategy.

Sounds like Hilary and her 'deplorables'. You think Trump is the only one trying to galvanise his base against the 'other'? Without sneering elitist Democrats there would be no Trump.

I reckon people are just sick of being politically correct and told what and how to think and this is why voted Trump. Your assuming anyone who votes for him are rednecks. This is not the case

Well Gronk my SJW extraordinaire, just watched a Trump rally and caught a bit of the Democrat debate, its like comparing Sco Mo and the grim lefties like Albo and Keneally. The left are a dispiriting mob and have no uplift at all.

Have the feeling the majority of the heartland will keep Trump in power, I'll wait for the usual postings of lengthy cut and paste from some far left think tank. The PC brigade and nut jobs from the likes of extinction rebellion continue to appeal to the inner city elite and not a lot more.

Everyones worried they will hurt someone's feelings. It is ridiculous. People shouldn't take life so seriously. I dont fly off handle if someone's makes a joke about my background or my physical appearance.
There adults and entitled to opinion also. If someone hates someone's cause of race, colour or sexuality and want to broadcast it then let them. They are only making fools of themself.

Notwithstanding, for example, the chronically high suicide rates of indigenous teens, LGBT teens and other minority races ? Why must the people voicing these opinions play the victims ? What is the result of the end of Political Correctness ? What does our community look like when verbal discrimination, vilification and victimisation goes unchecked ?

Hence my previous comment | Political Correctness = Reasonable and Empathetic |. Why is it so hard for people (like you clearly) to think of others and making community and tribe paramount in your mindsets ?

Actually she will forever remain a great example of a person losing the unlosable election because she felt empowered to denigrate a huge number of voters.

Empowered, because the media convinced her she couldn't lose.
