Well Gronk my SJW extraordinaire, just watched a Trump rally and caught a bit of the Democrat debate, its like comparing Sco Mo and the grim lefties like Albo and Keneally. The left are a dispiriting mob and have no uplift at all.

Have the feeling the majority of the heartland will keep Trump in power, I'll wait for the usual postings of lengthy cut and paste from some far left think tank. The PC brigade and nut jobs from the likes of extinction rebellion continue to appeal to the inner city elite and not a lot more.

The polls all say Trump's going to lose. Again.

Actually she will forever remain a great example of a person losing the unlosable election because she felt empowered to denigrate a huge number of voters.

Empowered, because the media convinced her she couldn't lose.

1. The rusted on Dems loved Bernie.
2. Attacking Trumps base was insignificant compared to Comey and his his decision to notify Congress just 11 days before election day that the investigation of her emails had been reopened. That was the straw that broke the camels back IMHO.

Notwithstanding, for example, the chronically high suicide rates of indigenous teens, LGBT teens and other minority races ? Why must the people voicing these opinions play the victims ? What is the result of the end of Political Correctness ? What does our community look like when verbal discrimination, vilification and victimisation goes unchecked ?

Hence my previous comment | Political Correctness = Reasonable and Empathetic |. Why is it so hard for people (like you clearly) to think of others and making community and tribe paramount in your mindsets ?

I wouldn't be nasty to someone. I just treat people how they treat me. If they are assholes I would ignore them and move on. I wouldn't get upset. It is there issue not mine. They have a right to be an asshole. And in general assholes end up hanging around other assholes cause no one else will hang around them.

People tend to stick to their own little groups and classes. I wouldn't say it is cause they look down on others but instead feel more comfortable around simmilar people living simmilar lives cause they can relate to each other.

The polls all say Trump's going to lose. Again.

The polls in 2016 were within their margin of error, Clinton won the popular vote within that margin.

Where they got it wrong was how that translated across the electoral college, particularly across the rust belt where Trump energised his base to turnout, and Clinton all but ignored them and democrat turnout was f**king poor as a result.

The problem with polling is that the more localised it is the less reliable it tends to be, so national polls generally provide more reliable numbers, however when they break it down to electorates, they don't have much beyond how it sat at the last election, and taking into account known changes to boundaries and demographics.

In Trump's case defensiveness is not his modus operandi. He is not in the habit of reacting to every accusation, though in this case I am leaning toward the leaked letter to Erdogan being genuine.

I reckon people are just sick of being politically correct and told what and how to think and this is why voted Trump. Your assuming anyone who votes for him are rednecks. This is not the case

yeh, fair comment, there will no doubt be the hard core republicans who will vote for their nominated candidate no matter who he was simply because they are republican fanbois and thats who they always vote for, but I do think a lot of the rednecks got fooled by some of the crap that he spews forth as they are easily lead, they are the ones that probabaly got him over the line

It's a strange argument this whole "I have a right to be an arsehole", or a bigot or whatever that get's thrown around, because at it's base is that in doing so what is being argued is that limitations should then be placed on others who would prefer you weren't an arsehole and apply some form of social pressure or whatever as a reaction to you being an arsehole.

So the logical extension of that is I want the right to be an arsehole, but I want the rights of others to treat me like the arsehole I am to be curtailed.

"political correctness" is just a convenient term to use in order to explain away arsehole behaviour as not really being an arsehole, which helps to avoid having to deal with the above logical conundrum.

Not much. I'm quiet ,humble and don't care enough about other people or their lives.Other then myself,family and Mik why would I want to stick my nose in someone's elses problems.

I am just saying why I reckon people voted Trump. Some people don't like the idea of Gay people raising kids but are branded homophobes for it when it may not be the case at all. It's like the minority make all the noise. Most people don't care nor do they put a lot of thought into it. They just go about their own business quietly but at same time get sick of listening to all these people making noise.
