yeh I get what you're saying, but I seriously doubt even the staunchest republicans would have ever thought that he could be so immature, uneducated, and such a bully boy who has a huge sook when he doesn't get his own way, not to mention that fact that he administers his country via twitter

I dont think anyone saw this coming
When he said he was going to "drain the swamp" and "build a wall" during the campaign I figured he wasn't going to be a conventional politician.

In some ways he has been less erratic and dangerous than I thought he might be. The US 'democracy' (read politicians on both sides that hate him) has served to stymie his more radical moves. All thats left is a frustrated cartoon figure.

Despite being unpupular with politicians there are still enough voters that like what they see so far (or prefer it over the alternative). He will be elected for another term.

I don't know that he will, that'll probably boil down to what the Democrats offer, which at the moment doesn't seem to be all that much.

What I reckon as far as his election goes is that the Democrats and the Republican establishment were offering more of the same, he offered something else, I don't know that people were conned in general, I think more so they just chose a promise of something different over the same shit that had been screwing them basically forever. It's not that hard of a choice when you look at it like that.

Now though they know what they're actually getting next time they vote, which for mine is pretty much the same as they always had, but with a big fat dose of batshit crazy and some really dumb shit to wash it down. His base are still buying into it though, so who knows.

I tend to agree, its amazing how such a largely populated country has so little to offer as far as an opposition goes

Not referring to someone by their preferred gender pronoun is considered hate speech in Canada. Do you think that is going too far?

The law always takes context into account. Premeditated malice and vilification is not welcome in a civilised society.

It could be close Bandwagon, but the Dems don't really have a strong contender to take him on. Thats why I think bat shit crazy with a dose of dumb shit might still win out.

Agree, premeditated malice and vilification =

Its a shame such a law couldn't just focus on premeditated malice and vilification and take unnecessary ambiguity out of the equation.

The irony is that the gender pronoun law is arguably vilification of respectful people who choose not to play a game of "guess my gender that doesn't exist and call me a name that doesn't exist". I will treat you nicely but you can't demand that I call you something that doesn't exist or have a go at me if I get it wrong. Thats plop imo and a case of political correctness overtaking common sense.

Most people on the planet lack the privilege required for your level of cultural cringe, Gronk.

Your needs are well at the top of Maslow's heirarchy. Don't deign to assume others are or should be in your boat.

You have read Maslow wrong if you think that merkins can’t achieve the right balance, notwithstanding their socioeconomic status. Values cost nothing.

Some people just can't afford to be 100% honest. And I do not hold it against them.

Honesty has got nothing to do with Maslow and his shit. It’s about life balance.

Unless you are not true to yourself, which circles back to your values.

Mindfulness and living by your values does not come easy. It takes practice.

Safety is second from bottom. For people to feel safe they either need status and financial security, or they need to feel a sense of belonging to a tribe and a link to the values of their ancestors. That's as true of white trash as it is of any minority group.

But what are deeply held values for some are an interesting cultural curiosity for those of us who can afford to have no value greater than 'tolerance'.

Is it morally wrong for someone to charge a person with a lot of money more then someone with less or should they be charged the same?
On the topic of values, that’s for the merkin offering the service to reflect upon. He needs to sit with the discomfort in thought, then decide.

Is it morally wrong for someone to charge less for their services to clients who haven't a lot of money?

I've never felt guilty at all. You have the money you will pay premium. But if their battlers I take off as much as can and do as cheap as possible.
