Yep. It’s at 10% in Cairns which is fairly significant and there are considerable problems with housing, family breakdown and crime which I find heart breaking.

Much more awareness up here. Sure there’s intolerance as well but there’s much more interaction with indigenous people than the majority of people who live in heavily populated areas with a lower proportion of indigenous people. I find with some who have limited interaction it’s a case of “all care, no responsibility”.

I’m sure you disagree, but I’ll back my own lived experience on this one.

I'll vote yes and hope that it is the circuit breaker thats needed, but my lived experience tells me it likely wont be.

Agree. I see it as a pretty token thing - but something that we should embrace and vote yes for, in the hope other things to collaboratively create some positive outcomes on the ground might then be able to follow more easily.

I'm not a fan of political stitch ups. I would not like it if Albo went after anyone just because. I cringe over the days of when there was a one seat minority government and Peter Slipper was on the verge of suicide over cabcharge to wineries and sexual harassment allegations by that merkin who now works for One Nation.
