Well, the promise of honesty and transparency didn't last long.........
Transport secretary hand-picked for job by minister was not recommended for role
The panel set up to hire a new transport boss found Josh Murray, the former Labor staffer given the job by minister Jo Haylen, did not have enough experience for the role and that appointing him would be a “significant risk”.

"The head-hunting firm hired by the Minns government to find a new transport secretary initially said the former Labor staffer who was given the job did not have enough experience for the role and was not even recommended for an interview."
"The documents show in May, the recruitment firm NGS Global said Murray, who also worked as an executive for construction giant Laing O’Rourke, had “some relevance” but that his experience was “largely in corporate affairs and as Chief of Staff”.
“Has not had level of operational complexity required for this role,” the recruitment firm found in the report on the 15 candidates who applied for the job on May 29."
It's certainly improper and just generally more of the same shitmerkin behavior.
Jobs for the boys is neither dishonest nor lacking in transparency.
I'll agree with that, but it's the sort of shit they said they wouldn't do after the Barilaro episode of the previous government, which was as equally appalling. They promised this shit would stop and it clearly hasn't.
Both teams have been found out.
And Labor have been found out by leaked documents now coming to light.
What experience does Jo Haylen have to personally choose such a high profile position of authority in a field in which she isn't even an expert? She's just a local member and an appointed minister to a certain portfolio.
The system is broke.
The problem really is, it doesn’t matter anymore.
It certainly is when the recruitment agency that was paid $125 000 by the NSW Govt (taxpayer) didn't recommend this person for the position.
So is a plebiscite or referendum. If we’re going to go to the trouble of having either then tack them on to the next federal election. No, that's just a waste of f**king money.
The very fact you know these facts demonstrates transparency exists.

In May, the Federal Government stated that they will pump $334 million into the Voice referendum. I can assure you it will be a lot more than that by the time all is said and done. That’s a waste of money regardless of which side of politics one sides with. If we’re too stupid as a society to deal with it being included as part of voting at election time then it doesn’t say much about us.Plebiscite, meh
Referendum, Disagree.
Far to much other shit going on at a federal election, referendums are important enough to stand on their own.
I mean if you were to look at the current one, party position represents the two sides, which is shit but hey. The actual decision would get even more lost on party preferred grounds.
That is farcical.Well, the promise of honesty and transparency didn't last long.........

The costs haven't blown out more than what they already knew before the election. That is farcical.
The Minns Govt has already demonstrated significant cracks in their short tenure IMO. If he pulls the plug on the Metro West he will be signing his own political death certificate and will be forever remembered as the Premier who crippled the city's best chance at rectifying the public transport shortcomings we had to endure in the 20th century and early 21st century....
I wonder why they're so keen to get this bloke in to the Transport Secretary position.... Could it be because he will sing from the same hymn sheet and announce the Transport projects have blown out in cost so much as to become unfeasible and therefore not rock the boat??

Some people think it’s important enough to be a stand alone issue. In May, the Federal Government stated that they will pump $334 million into the Voice referendum.
